You don't need a Keyblade to be able to defend yourself. There are plenty of other weapons around. A Keyblade is really just a glorified sword or blunt weapon with some sparkles and magic attached.

Everyone I've met so far is opposite. My Sora and Riku are female, and Sora traveled with Donna and Sally. There's Queen Mickie, who showed up just the other day, and pretty much all of the Organization was female except for Larxene.

Let's see... there's Aerin, Leana, Syl, Yuu, and Merle for the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee, and the ones at Twilight Town that I met are Haylee, Penny, and Olen.

As far as I know, the Organization members' names are the same, just pronounced differently. A few of the female ones are here, and the male Larxene is here as well.
