Anxious? Why?

So why are you anxious?

Well, I'm hoping that our date won't be a complete and utter disaster. I can't say it's my expertise, after all.

[offers him one of her hands, smiling.]

I'm sure it won't be a disaster. Why would it be?

[and he'll go ahead and take it]

Well, one can never be too cautious.

[gives his hand a gentle squeeze, then.]

Don't worry so much. You're supposed to have a good time.

[and he manages a weak smile]

I suppose you're right. Anyway, shall we be going, then?

Yep. I'm ready, if you still want to go.

In that case, to the castle?

Let's go.

[and he'll start walking slowly towards the castle's general direction, trying not to drag her or anything]

I certainly hope that you'll enjoy yourself.

[no worries there, she's keeping up just fine. It's a comfortable pace, though.]

Well, our destination is on one of the uppermost floors. I hope you don't mind riding the lifts again.

[pauses to look at him, grinning a little in a 'may have forgotten about that' kind of way.]

No, I don't mind. I think I can handle them.

[just gonna keep on walking until they get pretty close to the castle]

[likewise, and she'll be mostly silent while they walk-- mostly.]

What was it like before you came here?

What exactly do you mean?

--Well, your life. I was thinking about the castle, and your world...

It was...different, in a word. For one, there certainly weren't any doubles, and life itself was more mundane. For the most part, I simply spent my days at the castle with my colleagues, working on our studies, or spending time in the library. In all honesty, I didn't have that many friends or close associates, though I'm sure I've mentioned this much before.

I did enjoy studying under Master Ansem, of course, as it was an honorable position, but before my arrival it was becoming... troublesome. I may have mentioned before how my colleagues and I were to lose our hearts as we continued our studies. Well, frankly, prior to my arrival, one colleague in particular, Xehanort, was trying to persuade us all to proceed to truly experiment on the heart, rather than theorize. Master Ansem didn't approve, and, well... it was a difficult position.

[she listens to it all quietly, nodding at some points, and looking more than a little troubled at the end of it.]

Yes. I remember you telling me about it. ... I'm glad you were able to get out of that. At least, to come here I mean, and not have to lose your heart-- not like that. It's not fair.

I'm glad to have come here, honestly. In spite of its flaws, this place has been quite the home away from home... and if I hadn't arrived in this world, I wouldn't have met you.

[aw, have a warm smile while she steps up to be a little ahead, so she can turn and see him better.]
