Ah, you come from a world without them? They're... monsters. They look like moving, living shadows and come in different types. They'll try to steal your Heart if you can't fight them off, and you'll die.

That was a Shadow Heartless, the weakest of them. There's higher-level ones around, too, though.

Ah, no. Not exactly. When a Heartless steals your Heart, your Heart becomes corrupted by Darkness and turns into another Heartless. They're pretty much attracted to people, since they have Hearts.

And people who use Darkness, like I do, can call them if they're strong.
