[oh...oh my god. and she thought the pimp hat was bad. clearing her throat (trying not to laugh) she approached him]

H-Hey there, cowboy. Getting... getting ready for a rodeo?

[giggles, cradling little baby dragon Seifer in one arm, his hat (freshly washed) in the other]

I owe you this, don't I?

[has a hand on his hip, no-nonsense expression beneath the glittery rim]

Tch, whatever.

[raises eyebrows when he sees the dragon, takes the hat] This him? [leans down to get a good look at the dragon] Excellent! How big will he get?

[straightens up, skeptical stare] And his name's Seifer, right?

Still needing new material, I guess. Too bad.

[er. yes. serious business, right. tried giving herself a grim expression when he took his hat back, but that was really too hard. but she didn't burst into giggles like she was afraid she'd do- thankfully]

Well... I don't know. I've never had a dragon before.

And yes... it's name is Seifer.

[she didn't want to tell him that she thought it was a girl or anything]

Would you like to hold your namesake?

Yeah, run your mouth, chicken wuss. Won't get you anywhere.

[looks surprised at the burst of giggles, then tries to appear stern] [takes off the cowboy hat, puts his beanie back on and promptly puts the glitter over it, as the pimp hat was]

He'll get huge, I know it. Can you train them well? Like, if I told him to burn something or pulverize someone with his tail, could he?

'Course I do, he has to get to know me, right? He is my namesake, like you said.

Says the guy in the glitter hat.

[Crouched on his laptop, shoulders shaking in subdued laughter]

[glaaare that just screams "Lamer." from across the room]

You looking at something?

[purses lips together- not going to question his mentality... not going to question his fashion sense, no siree]

...I'm not going to train it to be mean, Seifer.

[exasperated sigh]

But if you want to teach it defensive skills, you may. But only to defend itself in case of trouble... not to be a bully.

[rolling her eyes she held the dragon out to him]

Be gentle... it's only a baby.

[suppressing bouts of laughter]

[SUDDENLY PULLS OUT A CAMERA AND SNAPS A PICTURE]

Didn't think so.

[takes the dragon carefully] Hey little guy...

[strokes it with a finger] Huh...

[looks up at Olette] Hey, I'm not the head of the Disciplinary Committee for nothin'! 'Course it's for defense. [looks offended]

[You little-]

[Lets this slide. He'll just take it from him later.]

[Starts making copies...if there was an internet here he'd be having a live feed right about now]

[sdjfhsfjkd okay, that was cute. she would never openly admit she thought so, of course... but it was. sweet, even]

See, little Seifer? This is big Seifer.

[cooed to the little dragon, who was just soaking up all the attention- if possible it would be purring. instead the dragon was content to spread it's little wings and make little cooing noises up at it's namesake]

I didn't mean it in an offensive way, I'm just being cautious. ...This is like my baby.

[smiling at the dragon] Oh sweet, check out the wings!

[glances at Olette] Eh, whatever. I get that, it's cool.

[grins at her] What, you name your baby after me? That's weird, lam- Olette.

[it proceeds to flap them, a little shakily since it wasn't used to them, making little noises as it proceeds to curl into big Seifer.

and Olette smiles at this, amused at how Seifer was acting with the little dragon]

Well, I did promise you, didn't I? And it seems to like it well enough.

[looks very happy with it, laughs as it curls up]

Well... That's true. You keep your word. Keep that up and the Disciplinary Committee won't have any reason to hunt you down.

[aaaaaaaaw! she couldn't help but smile]

Looks like you two are getting along fine.

[then she rose her brows]

Don't you mean you'll 'gun me down', cowboy?

With this guy on our side, nobody in their right mind will mess with Twilight Town. I wonder how long he takes to grow...

[looks up at her, gives almost embarrassed laugh] S'right, partner. [tugs the rim of his hat and tries to look cool.]

Yeah... if and when we get home, that is. A-Anyway... kittens and puppies grow up fast enough, maybe baby dragons do too. Though I'm no expert... Pence seems to know a lot, though.

[oh yes, very cool. grinning she leaned in closer, tickling the dragon a little bit]

What made you choose that hat anyway?

We're gonna get home, Olette. [looks kind of irritated at her pessimism]

That's true. You should ask him about it.

[looks at her out of the corner of his eye]

Well. I thought it was pretty fly. But it doesn't seem like anyone's digging it, so I'll try something different tomorrow.

Yeah, I know. It's just when you see how many people are here... and how long they've been here. Sometimes it's hard.

[hmms and eyes the hat again]

Well, then I question your fashion sense.

[reaches up and plucks the hat from his head, and puts it on herself]

Where do you find them anyway? And why wear both hats at the same time?

[not mocking, just genuinely curious- wouldn't tell him she thought this particular chapeau was kinda girly]

[looks off at nothing] Yeah...

[hat is plucked from head] Hey...

I found them in a closet, over there. [ignores her second question, walks over to it, opens the door, it is indeed a closet full of hats]

You can keep that one, looks better on you. [puts an Indiana Jones hat on, over his beanie]

Huh. Wish I could have found that sooner, then I could of used one of those hats instead of borrowing yours.

[she didn't mean that in any offense, of course- she just felt bad for taking his beanie like that.

and she totally didn't blush or anything at that compliment. nope... she just felt warm, that's all. but she nodded with approval of his new choice]

Now that is much better. No glitter, it's not obnoxious. Nice.

Yeah, I found the first hat in another closet. Ran across this one last night.

[grins] Thanks. I'll hang onto it. [looks at it in the mirror] Seems pretty fitting for the comittee's leader, yeah?

[peeks into the mirror herself, checking out her newly obtained glitter cowboy hat. giggles- it was horrible and tacky!]

Mhmm, perfectly fitting.

Though, I look like I'm on my way to a fabulous party.

[squints at her reflection, pulling the rim down.... so horribly tacky. but it was growing on her. turning she smiled at the little dragon]

And what do you think, little Seifer? do you like mommy's new hat?

[and that earned her a little dragon snort]

[strokes little Seifer on the head] Haha!

[laughs and rolls eyes, makes his way out of the closet] Look, Olette... I figure since we're going to be stuck her for a while, I should apologize.

Sorry for jerking you lamers- your friends around so much back home. Just doing my job, right? [had to add that last bit]

[would wonders never cease? mulling his words over she watched him carefully. it was a big thing... her friends and his 'posse' were at odds with each other all the time. but... she found him to be very civil here and she can't say she wasn't enjoying herself.

he seemed sincere. and Olette couldn't turn down an apology that must have been hard to say]

[smiles]

Apology accepted. And... I'm sorry for any of the bad things I've said.

[holds out a hand]

Start new, then?

[takes it, shakes it briskly and lets go]

A new start.

With you, anyway. Dunno how Hayner would take something like that. [grins]

[reaches over to pet her little dragon, still smiling]

Well... Hayner's special. You guys said some pretty mean stuff about each other. I mean I would happily vouch for you, but Hayner might take that as me being a traitor and abandoning the team... or something.

[small sigh]

Boys are difficult creatures. Hayner might think I'm being a silly girl, I don't even know how he'll react if I show him little Seifer.

You should stick with your team. That's coming from a leader.

...I know I'll get mad if Hayner has something against Seifer, though. [scratches behind the dragon's wee ears with a finger]

(Namine in her early-to-mid twenties with a cast on her right arm is staring. she's wondering what is wrong with you)

Mm, I know. They're my best friends. And I'm sure Pence would accept your apology, he's a sweetie.

Hayner is just stubborn.

[smiles before shaking her head]

If he has anything mean to say about little Seifer, I'll punch him in the nose.

Yeah, Pence is alright...

[smiles at this, laughs a little] Yeah, you do that... That's something I'd like to see.

Well, a mama has to protect her own, right? And Seifer's my own now.

[kisses the tip of her finger and pokes the dragon's nose with it]

Thanks again for letting me borrow your hat, it was sweet of you.

[laughs, that sounds odd]

Oh, not a problem.

Hey, let me know what Pence says about him. [indicates the dragon] I should get going.

I will.

[gently takes the dragon back, cradling it in her arms with a gentle smile]

And don't let me catch you in glitter again.

[wink]

[laughs, pets the dragon to say goodbye, lets it smell his hand]

Alright, I'll make a note of that.
