[Blood, black with darkness along with the more normal red, dots the floor. The source of the former has already left, but that of the latter has not been so fortunate. Crimson stains the ground underneath a redheaded teen, flowing from various wounds - particularly those nasty gashes on his left shoulder and chest. Yet another one who came off worse in a fight with Sephiroth, though Nanaki lasted for a bit longer than that Axel did. His remaining eye is closed, there are smears of black blood around his mouth, and his skin is very pale. Yet he's still breathing, albeit shallowly.

Drifting in and out of consciousness, Nanaki's faintly aware of his life seeping out of him drop by drop. He heals better in his animal form, but the severity of wounds have forced him back into this one. And the energy needed to transform back would probably kill him right now. The pain is not a factor; he doesn't even feel it anymore.]

[Not recognizing him at first, Ansem runs over and drops to his knees near the teen, examining the serious wounds on his chest and shoulder. It is only upon coming this close that the connection fully dawns on him. But instead of saying anything, he takes his red scarf and uses it to make a tourniquet.]

[o-ow. There it is, back again at the touch of the cloth, however gentle it might be. His eye flickers open, trying to see who's doing that but seeing only haziness instead.]

Who...?

Ansem. But don't exert yourself, my friend. I only have the means to lessen the severity of your wounds - not to heal them.

[He rummages through his suit pockets until he recovers a small blue vial. Potions had been all he could find in the Dressing Room, and he had forgotten curative magic after years in darkness.] I need you to try and drink this.

[grasps (almost) blindly for the vial, which is currently only a darkened spot in his vision. Through some miracle he manages to open it and tip its contents into his mouth. There's a choking gasp as the liquid sears its way down his throat, followed by an obvious attempt to relax like Ansem told him to. The initial burn dwindles to a warmth spreading throughout his body, slowing the bleeding but not closing the wounds.]

T-thank you..

[He finishes tying the tourniquet.] I am sorry I cannot do more, but I will stay with you until we can find one more adapt at healing.

[nods, closing his eye again.]

You saved me from dying for a while...that is more than enough.

[The serious expression never leaves his face as he keeps his eyes transfixed on Nanaki's wounds, but he manages a good-natured chuckle.]

Fortunately, wounds are a fairly common business around here.

Mm. And on the other hand, so are those who give them.

[There's a flicker of anger in his face.] Quite right.

Do you know who did this?

Sephiroth. He...he ripped out someone's heart in front of me, so...

Another fool obsessed with darkness. [His face contorts at the mention of this man tearing out someone's heart. He knew well the damage those who pined for darkness were capable of, and it incited old hatred.]

I cannot fault you for trying to stop him, I would have tried to do the same.

He didn't leave unscathed either.

[He smiles a bit at that.] Hopefully he will reconsider before harming anyone else, then.

Hopefully. I would hate to go through this again.

Red?!

What happened?!

[Ansem gave him a potion and tied a tourniquet on him, so he's not that bad as before. But he's not in too great a shape either.]

Sephiroth happened.

Sephiroth. You okay? Anything still painful?

A bit. Otherwise, I'm fine. Time will take care of them.

[understatement! His wounds aren't even closed yet.]

Stay still.

[there might have been a faint smile on his face at that, but it turns into a bit of a grimace as the healing magic takes effect. The fingers of his left hand involuntarily clench; tissue and blood vessels knitting together isn't an altogether comfortable process.]

Take it like a man.

[okay, so that gets a chuckle out of him.]

Not screaming yet, Rinoa.

Good. I remember your roars were loud. I don't exactly want to know how loud your scream can get.

Let's just say it has the tendency to shatter windows.

Yikes. And here I thought Yuffie's screams were the worse. Remind me not to get on your tantrum side. If you have one, that is.

Any better? I've closed them up as best as I can. I know you heal better when you're in animal form.

[t-tentatively hoists himself up on his arms so he's not so lying on the floor anymore, moving very carefully and very slowly. There's a dull twinge as he does so and a slight pain, but it's not too bad. Glances down; the wounds have closed until they're no more than thin red lines.]

[smiles] Much better. Thank you, Rinoa.

Look before you leap next time, Red. Now. Sephiroth is here, you say?

H-he is. He ripped out a person's heart in front of me, so that's why I attacked him.

Looks like I need to talk with him. We can't have him doing that now, do we?

[knows Rinoa is a great sorceress and all that, but...there's a concerned look on his face now. He uses the back of one hand to gingerly wipe off the blood smears around his mouth.]

His wounds will remind him not to do that again, I hope.

Though...if you do run into him...be careful.
