[For those who didn't know: Red has been missing for around two weeks now. There was no real warning, one day he was there and the next he wasn't; the doors to his rooms have become nothing more than paint on a wall, his creatures have all but disappeared (there are a few bats that have taken up residence in 'his' Riku's home), and any signs of him that would normally be around have been completely absent.

So it's perhaps a bit strange (and maybe relieving) to see him lingering near the edge of a more populated area quite suddenly, shoulders hunched, hands buried in his jacket's pockets, and expression guarded. He looks like he's lost some weight in the time gone. Actually, he looks a little worse overall, his face a little gaunter, his skin a little more corpse-like. He looks like he hasn't showered at all during his time away. He smells like graveyards and something sharp, like venom.]

[sup asshole. being basically unconcerned with human matters and otherwise not in the same circle(s) Red is in, this guy obviously had no idea Red had ever been gone at all. this seems like a good time for some heckling, though, and he can't sense the human Riku anywhere nearby, and it's not Halloween, in any case. no vampires to interrupt this time. >B} ]

[Red goes tense - well, tenser - and swings his gaze toward Hachibi. His expression changes slightly; under the wariness there's curiosity and perhaps even a bit of confusion. Certainly no anger.]

I'm sorry, is that directed at me?

[dawnrise]

Hey!

[There's a Riku stalking his way, expression concerned and a little pissed off. He disappears for who knows how long and now he's back and he didn't even come find her?]

Well. I'll admit I don't actually know what you are, but whatever. Yes, it was directed at you.

[he's strolling closer, hands in his pockets, looking so casual it hurts. but he has noticed the difference in reaction, compared to the first time they met.]

[He starts a bit when he realizes there is someone very purposely walking towards him with that sort of expression- ew, concern? What? Who does this girl think he is? But his expression smooths into a sneer. There's absolutely no recognition there.]

Can I help you?

[before]

Uh-huh.

[He looks him up and down slowly, distaste for conversation with strangers warring with curiosity over what he is. A demon, maybe? He hasn't met many, but he's read enough to know they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.]

Can't say I know what you are, either.

[dawnrise]

[She stops short several feet away, and she looks about the same as she would if he'd just slapped her.]

What?

[up goes one eyebrow, slowly. this is not going how he was imagining.]

I was going to say that we got off on the wrong foot when we first met, but apparently you don't remember that.

[before]

[Red rolls his eyes, shifting on his feet. This is where he'd split for somewhere more comfortable if he were back home, but he doesn't know anywhere like that here yet.]

Do you need help?

[There's an incredibly rude, very obvious double meaning to his words. His tone is bordering on downright nasty.]

[If he was paying attention to her face it would become pretty obvious pretty fast that there was a multitude of thoughts running through her head, but his tone snaps her out of that. Wow, what an asshole. She looks taken aback again, but a little less shocked, and she nods to indicate him.]

No. But you do. Unless you're going to tell me you know where you are.

[In which case she will punch him in his face.]

I think I'd remember meeting someone like you.

[At least the maybe-a-demon is distracting him from his current predicament. The whole winding up in some random place while trying to head into a shop? Not cool.]

[His mouth twitches into a scowl and he turns his attention back to the area at large. It's too... bright, it makes him want to tug his hood up. And everything is so fucking colourful. It's disgusting.]

I should think so, considering I called you by a name you apparently don't like, and you attacked me, and then your matesprit or whatever the human equivalent is got really upset and beat the shit out of me. Your loss, if you don't remember. It was a pretty great fight.

[what if he just says Red's real name and then runs. what if.]

[The fuck is this guy on, and can he find it somewhere? He likes slipping shit to people sometimes, just to see what happens.]

[She bites the side of her tongue, breathes in deep through her nose, and turns so he's only getting a small view of her face.]

No. No one ever does.

[Memory spells don't usually include the disappearance of rooms, do they?]

...ugh. It's really not worth the effort it would take to try to explain it, humans don't seem to get it anyway. It's someone you have lots of mushy feelings for and reproduce with, basically. I'm not giving you any more than that.

[he folds his arms and sort of huffs grumpily. this is really not going the way he planned, and he's sure as fuck not going to explain to Red what this place is if he doesn't remember, so walking away from this whole thing is looking pretty tempting.]

You going to be useful here, or should I go find out for myself?

[He doesn't sound quite so nasty, but his tone is still pretty indifferent. If she's upset for some reason, he doesn't care at all. Why would he?]

[Red lets out a startled bark of laughter at the very idea of him having 'mushy feelings' for anything or anyone, never mind reproducing.]

I think you're out of your skull. I don't do feelings, mushy or otherwise.

[he turns a little, eyeing Red sidelong for a moment and scoping out nearby hallways as possible escape routes.]

So, Quinn, seems like you don't remember that you were here before. Want me to fill you in?

[That has him practically bristling, his eyes narrowing and getting a tad brighter.]

How the hell do you know that name?

[She rubs at her face, but doesn't turn back to him. She does scoff, her tone taking an edge for nasty.]

Why? What do you want to know?

zomg RI FINALLY has a reason to punch Red in the face!

Man, I knew you loved Halloween and all, but it looks like you buried yourself in the ground for a month. Riku-pi is gonna flip if she sees you like that.

[He shrugs, a touch exaggerated. He doesn't know where to start with the questions.]

You obviously know about this place. Shouldn't you know where to start with the explanations?

[And why should he care? Red looks unimpressed right back at him.]

[that reaction gets a nasty smile, all teeth and only malicious humor in his eyes when he turns back to face Red.]
