[Good morning Dressing Room, we hope you slept well but you probably didn't. Late night on the 19th or early morning of the 20th, some of you might have found your sleep a little restless for a bit, the more nocturnal/or outright insomnia stricken residents among you who were still awake certainly found themselves awfully sleepy.

 

By morning (or sundown in some cases) many of you shall rise to find yourselves occupying the wrong bed, with the wrong person for some of the more unlucky saps among you, and depending on how quick on the uptake you are to notice, occupying the wrong body.

 

Sure it's great to stickybeak someone else's room and stuff, but someone else may be doing the same to you and yours, and there's nothing you can do about it, since the person who's got your body ain't the owner of the body you've got.

[Whoever wakes up in this big bed is going to find a naked Riku curled around them from his spot right in the middle of it.]

[Axel's body is familiar with two things that this new conscious mind is not: sleeping with someone else in the same bed, and sleeping consistently. Occasionally (read: once a month) Riku is blessedly aware of what it's like to sleep through chaos (chaos in her case usually being puppies), but most of the time she's teetering on the verge of waking up anyway unless she's exhausted herself.

So it's much earlier than Axel probably intended when his body starts to stir, hands reaching out blindly to push away whoever and who all is cuddled up to her like that. It should be Red, if anyone, but she's too groggy and relaxed to concentrate on anything weird. Yet. You've got about ten seconds.]

[good morning Riku. you remember that musebox thread, right? this is just like that time, but canon. as soon as Axel's body starts waking up ( ;O ), Hachibi stirs a little too. he's not fully awake, but he's already reconnecting with Axel's senses and everything, which has its own particular feeling inside one's head.]

[God, why are all of you in Riku's bed? Or what he thinks is his bed. He doesn't realize it's not yet, but the extra warmth is enough to wake him up a little bit, enough to peer sleepily in the direction of his bedmates.]

[Xigbar, being an early riser, has had time to come to grips with her situation and work out how best to simultaneously be as much of an arsehole as possible while expanding her intel.

Which currently involves placing a boombox next Red's, or whoever has the misfortune of being in Red's body's still sleeping head, setting it to maximum volume before hitting play on a remote from a safe optimum spectating distance.]

[He moves easily enough when pushed, instead rolling over to slide an arm around his master (or so he thinks), tucking his face against Kai's chest. He hardly lets out a murmur before sinking back into sleep.]

[There are several things wrong with this scenario, and Riku recognizes them in a specific order. One: there are two people in bed with her, and neither of them are Red. They're both too healthy. Two: one of them is Kai. Three: she is naked. It's at this point that she automatically reaches for a sheet she doesn't need to hide herself. Four: they are also naked. Both of them. One of them is Riku. It's not hard to guess which. Five: she can sense Hachibi much, much closer than she thought would ever be possible.

Six: she's in Axel's body.

She moves so quickly across the bed she hits the ground, quickly going from zero to panic in the time it takes to sit up.]

[considering that Axel is usually in a position to wake up before unexpected things happen, this is a goddamn sudden and entirely unwelcome way to wake up. the emptiness in his head would've gotten him there sooner rather than later, so thanks for getting him up before that, i guess.

as soon as the music starts, Axel's awake with a horrible strangled screeching noise of total alarm and confusion, lashing out with one hand to strike the devil machine and send it flying off the bed, and flinging himself in the other direction, also off the bed. he looks panicked, staring at Riku's(?) face and trying to figure out why he's not where he's supposed to be.]

[the sudden adrenaline gets him awake pretty quickly, though he's still not entirely clear on what's going on. it's easy enough to tell that something's wrong, but it's another handful of moments before he's aware that it's not Axel occupying that vague region between the pure physical functions and his own cage. he's not nearly as panicked as she is, and has the sense to stay quiet and still while she gets her bearings a little more.]

[That went probably went the best way it could have really. It's probably at least 20% funnier because he's naked. She thinks it's pretty funny and with a heart, her laughter sounds more genuine than what it usually might. Though probably not very Riku-like, even using her voice.]

[This is not the Kai you're looking for. Past the outward appearance, anyway. He's starting to wake up a bit, enough to notice that where he is isn't where he's supposed to be, and that he and the person who's pressed against him are both naked. The noise and movement of the other (awake) Riku panicking prompt him to sit up--as best he can, anyway, and probably wake the non-swapped Riku up in the process--to see what the hell is going on.]

[yeah, even in his disoriented state he can tell that's not right for Riku. and he's looking at himself now, and things are way too pale and pierced, and his hair's not long enough, and he feels empty and strange, so it must be bodyswap time in the DR again, yayyyyyyyy. he pulls himself up, ready to do... something, if whoever it is in Riku's body is someone who might harm it or something.]

Who the fuck are you?

[She's not even bothering to try to suppress her habit of talking with her hands and her accent is still kind of there, though it's bit off with such a different voice.

Xigbar probably won't harm the body, since she's not into masochism but starting shit with Riku's body on the other hand...]

[That gets more of a protesting noise from him, as he was sleeping very well up til now, thank you. He looks Kai over first, then shifts to check on Axel... who is on the floor for some reason, with one of the bed sheets. Axel looks strangely freaked out over something, which serves to kick his awareness into higher gear. He doesn't sense anyone dangerous nearby, so he really has no idea what's got Axel looking so spooked.]

Mast- Axel? Did you have a nightmare?

[dawnrise]

[From an outside point of view Axel's shaking his head as an answer. Riku's doing it because she's slipping into denial, breathing steadily faster and pressing the heel of her palm up against one eye.]

No. I'm not Axel.

[lightyin]

[That sounds so weird coming from an Axel, you know. He shrugs when Riku looks him over, pulling a bit of blanket up to make sure his lap area is covered.]

Who are you, then?

[Wow, hello voice-that-isn't-his.]

[Yeah, that has Riku sitting up more now too. If this isn't Axel, it certainly explains the way he's acting... Sort of. He seems to be the only one of them not grabbing at the sheets for some modesty.]

Hachibi?

[dawnrise]

No. It's me. It's Riku.

[That's a very aggravated sigh.]

The girl Riku. But he's still here. Aren't you?

[The additional addressing him as "you bastard" is left unspoken and in Riku's head. Hachibi will still hear it. There's certainly no love in what she does say. She doesn't like referring to herself like that. (Additionally, regardless of how Hachibi responds, Riku will probably scream out of shock when he does.)]

[he's incredibly muted when he responds, but it will still seem unnaturally like someone speaking directly into Riku's ear at normal volume. he's trying to keep as much of himself stifled as he can.]

I would have gone with him if I had any say in it.

Were we supposed to know that?

['Kai' here is attempting to surreptitiously locate pants that'll fit him.]

[He blinks at that, suddenly understanding why Kai might feel uncomfortable with being in the nude right now. One leg is shifted slightly so he's not giving off a view, as they've both got the bed coverings with them and he isn't nearly so self-conscious. His voice seems much softer after her scream, and like he's being cautious around a wild animal.]

There's a pair of Axel's pants under the bed.

[Riku's got a hand over her mouth (most of her face, in fact) from the scream, embarrassed that she reacted to Hachibi's voice like that. She gives 'Kai' a funny look, because that doesn't sound like the kind of response he'd give. Not to her. It's not hard to guess it's not him. Riku gets a glance and then she turns her attention on the space under the bed, reaching under it to search around for those pants, gritting her teeth. As soon as she finds them she tosses them over her shoulder and stands up, keeping the sheet firmly wrapped around her.]

[You'll have to guess who he is, Miss Riku~. Because he's not saying outright, at least just yet. He makes a face at her when she grabs the pants he was going to go for, but finds another pair nearby. He'd make a remark about how she should just make the bedsheet into a toga, but decides against it and flops back on the bed instead beside the other Riku.]

[He's been watching Kai out of respect for Riku not wanting their attention for the moment, and caught that expression. It's definitely not something Kai would do, especially over a pair of pants he would be more likely to give to her first. He's slowly putting more distance between them, in a way that puts him between the bathroom and possible danger.]

You're not Kai.

[dawnrise]

[She was going to steal the bathroom to put those pants on, but instead settles on backing up against the wall and pulling them on under the sheet, as if it she were pulling them on under a skirt. It saves her modesty and means she doesn't have to look at herself fully naked yet! But mostly it's because of what Riku pointed out.]

No, he's not. And before anything else happens we're going to find out who he is. You weren't hit by it, were you?
