[ If you've ever been around to hear a horse trotting down a stone path, then the sound accompanying this newcomer would be something you'd recognize immediately. It slows to a stop as he becomes aware of his surroundings, a young man in (yes, shining) silver armor ripped straight out of a fairy tale, on a large, silvery horse wearing red and gold. He's at the end of a tunnel, looking remarkably confused at how the stone appears to just blend into the hard flooring of an indoor hall. One that doesn't look anything like what he'd recognize, at that. When he removes his helmet, that confusion becomes more obvious. It's also very obvious that he is in fact a Riku. He is a Riku, lost and new to the DR, sitting very tall on a horse in shiny armor.

This is probably going to attract stares. ]

[no kidding it's going to attract stares. like the stares from this girl Sora amirite. she looks fresh from a shower, spiky hair heavy and drooping from what's left of the water, dressed in a t-shirt and sweatpants. please ignore the still fairly fresh burn scar climbing up one arm.]

[This is unexpected. Chivalric code dictates that he probably shouldn't stare at her, because this is bordering obscene, but... but it looks like Sora. It looks like Sora, if Sora were a girl, which he knows is not the case. Sora is not a girl. Sora is one of the most boyish boys he knows, and he's probably rolling around in mud or something equally boyish and not something any lady of this age would do.

He quickly turns his stare to her face. Is this a prank?]

...hi?

[they can just stare at each other, then; lucky for him she was too distracted by the fact that he's on a horse and in armor to notice that he may have been staring anywhere other than her face to begin with.]

[Oh, good, that means he has no reason to go red from mortification. Hm. What can he say here that wouldn't threaten to be rude?]

Forgive me, I... Sora?

[That seems like the best bet. If it is Sora, he'll tell him! He. And then Riku will know that he is in fact dressed up for show. If her name is not Sora, then he can just go about treating her like any other lady.]

Yep!

[oh, wait, that could be taken wrong.]

I mean, no! Well, sort of. I'm a Sora, but definitely not the one you know!

[This is not going as planned. He would be inclined to think it was another trick of Sora's still, god only knows why, if her voice didn't sound so... real. Feminine. What does he do?]

What?

Well I mean, the Riku I know is kind of not a knight. And is a girl.

[because that totally explains everything.]

[That explains nothing. He's not sure at this point if he's more confused or horrified.]

What are you talking about?

R-Right, sorry. Um.

[she rubs her arm for a moment, trying to think of the best way to word it.]

Okay, well, this place basically has a bunch of different people from different worlds in it, and a lot of those people are doubles of other people. So there's like a hundred different Soras and Rikus and stuff.

[....beam. sora is gud at explane]

[hey Riku, when's the last time you saw Roxas gaping and scrambling to get out of your way? he's dressed in a simple tunic and hose, clothes he's the most comfortable in (no zippers!) compared to all the others he's found here so far. his only concession to modern clothing would be the sneakers on his feet.]

[Yeah. The way she 'explains' doesn't really explain a lick of anything to him. Actually, it draws his attention to the fact that there are two problems here, aside from... there apparently being a Sora that is in fact female. He doesn't know where he is.

Maybe he'll get a better explanation if he's on ground level. Riku slides off of his horse.]

Hundreds of us. Well, that makes sense. Where is 'this place'?

[Never. Mostly because he's never formally met Roxas. He's only seen him from afar. Still, that manages to confuse him, mostly because he thinks this is Ven scrambling to get out of his way, while he's standing perfectly still. Riku gapes at him. What is he doing, and where the hell is his armor?]

Ven?

I dunno how to explain that one, actually. It's its own separate world. Most people call it the dressing room, but that probably doesn't help.

[Well, that explains everything. Worlds, doubles, a Sora that is a woman...]

I'm dreaming.

'fraid not! But don't worry, a lot of people think that at first.

As opposed to how they feel later.

[Hm. It's obvious he doesn't believe her. But he doesn't have another explanation for another Sora to be standing before him, or why that Sora happens to be female, or why he's in such an unfamiliar place. Dilemma.]

Well, why don't you just wake up?

[she doesn't seem to mind not being believed, at least. she knows how newcomers are.]

[His eyebrows go up at that. He feels kind of challenged. He looks at her for a moment then shifts his helmet to the crook of one arm so he can use that arm to... he can't pinch his other arm like this. Going for the face.]

Ow!

[she has to slap a hand over her mouth to smother her giggling, though her grin is pretty obvious even with that hand in the way.]

Awake yet?

Apparently not.

[He rubs at his cheek, sore now for two different reasons.]

If this is some kind of illusion, I won't fall for it.

Well, I dunno what you'd be put in an illusion for, but I promise it's not one.

Unless a war has started or I've been captured, I don't either.

[He drops his hand, looking exceptionally awkward now.]

Can you prove your story?

I totally can! I can show you some of the doubles right now if you want.

[so eager to help, she is.]

Very well.

[He looks back at his horse, then moves over to her to give her a reassuring pat. He might as well bring her along.]

[and here is a Sora who looks starstruck]
