[despite all the chaos and destruction going on, there is in fact a safe haven. it comes in the form of a warded portion of hallway, absolutely reeking of Light. even so, those with Darkness who hold no ill will toward the inhabitants of the Dressing Room as a whole will find themselves mysteriously able to enter the warding, without the slightest bit of damage to them. the few rooms within the Light-based wards are more or less whole; a kitchen, a bathroom, and a rather large sitting room, all in working condition. in the middle of the hallway in plain sight is the eldest version of Kai, seated in a cross-legged position and looking peaceful, as though meditating. anyone with ill intent will find themselves being pleasantly (or not so much) roasted by the wards.]

(ooc: Basically just the obligatory safe haven. You don't have to talk to Kai, it's just sort of there so if anyone feels like RPing while being aware of the event, but can't/won't fight, they've got something to do aside from running around trying to avoid Heartless.)

[ A tiny little girl is running for dear life, tears streaming down her face, away from a couple of shadows. Even when she enters the haven, she'll probably not notice and continue to run at full speed-- probably knocking into Kai. ]

[it's probably a good thing he can sense her, huh? he reaches out to stop her right before they connect and either of them get hurt.]

Sora? It's alright, you're safe.

[ Prepare for snot and tears and bawwwww, Kai. Possibly a bit of hyperventelation from running and crying. ]

Feels just like home, huh?

[Don't mind this guy. He's just trying to find a place to regroup and will sidle on past. Worst he's got is a bloody nose.]

It's alright...

[his voice is quiet, soothing. he can take his concentration from the wards for a short time. she's getting a hug.]

Mmhm.

[he opens one eye, then the other, and offers Aden a smile. and a Cure.]

Good to see you.

No! I don't know where Chichi and Riku are!

[ sobbing. ]

I'm sure they'll be fine, Sora.

[At least he knows who she's been staying with. He recognizes "Chichi".]

They might be hurt! Or attacked! I need to go find them!

[ brb starting to scramble + crying still. ]

[He grins back at him, and is about to respond when he pauses, holds up a hand, and then turns away to sneeze. Some of that blood might end up on the floor.]

Sora, it's too dangerous to go back out there, especially alone! I would go find them for you, but I need to stay here to make sure none of the Heartless can get inside.

[he just looks amused. that's probably not the only place there's blood right now.]

[He sniffs loudly, which is not too easy with the blood clotting up his nostrils, but he'll deal.]

[ stops scrambling, just kind of lays there and cries now. ]

One of the rooms is a bathroom, if you want to blow your nose.

You won't be able to protect them if something happens to you. I know it's hard, but the best way to help them is to stay here for now, where you're safe. If you got lost out there, that would be one more child for Chichi to worry about, right?

[Larxene stops just outside the ward, considering whether it's likely to let them through. It kind of feels like Kai's handiwork, from when he set up wards around her room that one time Saïx tried to destroy everything.]

Looks like a safe bet.

[She touches the barrier just to make sure it won't fry her. It doesn't.]

Nah, I'm good.

[He just wipes the back of his sleeve across his face. He'll deal with that later.]

[ not sobbing anymore, just. shedding tears. KAI HAS A SOOTHING VOICE AND CHEST HAIR. /what ]

[Still carrying Akane, Axel looks a little dubious when Larxene touches the barrier, but relaxes when it doesn't seem to hurt her.]

We okay to go in, you think?

Looks like Kai's. He's okay with me.

[She goes in, beckoning Axel to follow.]

[He nods and follows her, then, albeit hesitantly.]

[Kai opens his eyes, but doesn't move from his position, offering the two a smile.]

Good to see more people uninjured.
