[and in this corner is a small Riku, making quite a bit of noise as he fights against thick chains trailing from manacles at his wrists and ankles. each chain is connected to a ring in the floor, and the weight of them is quickly wearing him out. he's been at it for a while now, and is almost on the verge of tears because he can't even slide his hands through no matter how small he tries to make his hands.]

Let me go!

[oh god please don't let the de-aging become a Thing, DR. he really doesn't want to see tinier!Riku freaking out about stuff. ;; as it is, his Riku senses are tingling and the kid might hear the footsteps of someone approaching.]

[tiny!slaveku doesn't have any of the triggers or worries his older self does, thankfully. he just doesn't know why he's trapped here like this, and is confused and more scared than he'd like to admit. he gives one more hard yank before giving up and dropping to the floor in exhaustion, his eyes blinking quickly in the effort to hold back tears.]

[the sudden lack of noise has him worried and he skids into sight, stopping short when he sees Riku.]

[he has one arm cradled protectively in his lap, and he looks up apprehensively when he hears someone coming. that fades when he sees who it is, recognition lighting up his eyes.]

Mister Kai! Help me! I can't get out!

Hold on, Riku, I'll see what I can do.

[r-rushing over, and he's so glad he's recognized. will a Keyblade work to get the manacles off?]

[it will indeed, and once they're off his skin will be very red from how tight they were and how hard he was yanking. the arm he's favoring has a bright red smear of blood where he broke the skin, and he's trying not to cry over how much it stings.]

I t-think the bad people got me.

Did you see anyone?

[nooo his poor baby ;; as soon as the manacles are off, Kai's casting a strong Cure over Riku and moving to pull him into a hug.]

[you are getting clung to tightly, mister. aside from you and Axel, he doesn't remember anyone else here.]

We were in the park and I fell asleep.. then I woke up and I was stuck and nobody could hear me but the man with the girly hair, an' he said he was gonna come back, but then you came.

[he sounds absolutely horrified, and hugs Riku tighter.]

Pink hair?

Yeah... he smelled like a girl too... Was he one of the bad people?

[Kai sounding like that is making Riku scared again, his little heart already pounding in his chest.]

[oh what is this bullshit. Axel rounds the corner, having picked up Riku's scent and also the noise from some distance away.]

Riku? What the hell happened?

Not one of the ones from your world, but most of the people who look like him are very, very bad.

[he pets Riku's hair gently, trying not to think about what could have happened if he hadn't found the child in time.]

[he should recognize the fear and actions of someone trapped like an animal; except with Riku he isn't able to chew off a hand or foot to get away. he has managed to struggle enough that the manacles have bitten deep into one wrist, but when he sees who it is he finally gives up struggling in favor of giving Axel a pleading look.]

Let me out, please! I promise I'll be good!

[hair pettings usually have a calming effect on him, but it isn't as effective when they're still in sight of those chains.]

What about when he comes back?

[hurries to Riku's side and crouches down next to him to examine the chains, brushing a hand over Riku's hair to reassure him.]

It's okay, I'll get you out of here. Who did this to you?

I dunno, I woke up and I was stuck!

[he's already starting to pull against them again, whimpering a little when blood wells up along the edge of the metal.]

If he comes back before we get away from here, I'll make sure he regrets even thinking about touching you.

[Kai's voice takes on a dangerous tone there, because like hell he'd ever let Marluxia anywhere near Riku, even if it meant facing him head on.]

Come on, we're going to go before he does come back.

[hopefully Kai doesn't mind if Riku doesn't want to let go? he doesn't even want to know what'll happen if they don't make it, with how scary Kai's voice is.]

[Kai was planning on carrying him, so that's alright with him. he stands with Riku in his arms, Light surrounding them in a protective barrier just in case before he starts moving. they're going to go far away from this area.]

Ah, I see you beat me to the job.

[but must you be so bright?]

Shh, stop pulling, I'm not gonna let anything else happen to you. I can break the chains, and then we'll need to find someone with a keyblade who can unlock the manacles, okay?

[he takes one of the wrist chains in both hands, near the manacle, and frowns a little in concentration as he super-heats it, focusing it all into one link of metal before he reaches for the pouch he's just started wearing again recently, withdrawing a kunai and striking the heated chain with the end of the handle. it's enough to split the link so he can pull the chain apart, freeing that wrist. \o/]

[he tenses for a moment, more Light flaring up, before he slumps a little in relief and lets all the Light dissipate.]

Thank god...

That's him! Is he the bad man?

[the heck is that thing in his hand? it looks like something from a tool shed.]

[he has no idea how you're heating it, but his eyes are huge when you manage to break the link.]

How'd you do that!?

...yes and no. He looks like one of the really bad men here, but he's special, because he's nicer.

[hence his relief! unless this Marluxia has mysteriously gone evil. but god, if it had been the other Marluxia... he doesn't even want to think about it.]
