[Some of you may be enjoying the ball. Others may be doing whatever other habits might be seeming appropriate. But 'tis the season for darkness and shadow and where one or the other is, so too is Ansem. This particular one hasn't been here before, but that doesn't stop him as he steps quietly out of the shadows.

For those so inclined to sense such things, he's certainly dark, but whatever he is, he's no Heartless.]

[he's a little startled, but not too badly. he catches himself before actually bumping into Ansem, taking a moment to push his feathered hat back from where it likes to slide down.]

Sorry, I didn't see you there.

[He smiles. It looks a little off somehow.]

[his danger radar is sadly askew. especially since you look so much like a pastor in his world.]

[ thank god the sparkly skin this place gave him for Halloween is gone by now. though, honestly, he doesn't feel that much different seeings how he's naturally a vampire anyway-- and his eyebrow arches when his eyes find the guy stepping out of the shadows. ]

[Desiree is on her way back to her room after the party, but stops when she sees the guy stepping out of the shadows. There's only one other person she knows of who can do that, and she's scared to death of him.]

[Candy? He couldn't eat it even if had the inclination to.]

I had no idea it was the time for such things.

[Ah, terror. That's something he can certainly understand, but he offers a smile all the same.]

[He probably would have been affronted if had been otherwise. None of the Kindred are supposed to sparkle. ~~We don't talk about the Kiasyd.~~

So since there isn't any sparkling he merely raises an eyebrow in return, as if to suggest it's perfectly normal he should step out of a patch of shadow.]

[You see this? This is a very much unimpressed look. In fact, the only reason he's giving you any thought whatsoever, is that he's trying to guess if you're going to be a threat to him and the person he's looking after.]

Um..well...

[No way she can lie to him, so...]

There's this guy I know of...he's really creepy and he can walk through shadows and stuff like you just did.

[Interesting. Is he not the first of his kind here, then?]

He has a name, I trust?

[This would be an unimpressed look back. He's only going to be a threat if he and his prove to be worth his effort.]

I guess so, but he never told me.

[For that, Ansem's respect for this nameless person moves up a fraction.]

What does he look like, then.

[ do you feel ruffles in your head, Ansem? Don't mind Axel, he's just making sure you aren't going to jump him or do something worse-- well hello. ]

I bet my fangs are longer.

Me either, but people keep giving it to me! Would you like some?

[he doesn't know what most of what they're giving him even is, but his curiosity won't stop him from trying it.]

[Yeah, he feels you there. And he's not sure he likes it either, since - as far as he knows - that means Axel's at least of a similar generation.]

You concern yourself with overly petty matters.

I'm not the one that seems to wrapped up in all of this 'clan' nonsense.

[There's a scornful frown at that. He won't try to explain to him.]

[There's an exertion of will that goes along with his words. They will be followed, and he means to see to it.]

[ and he is removed, frustratingly. though he doesn't show it. ]

Excuse me? I could afford to buy your entire home country and fill it with the finest of everything, and still have tons of money left over.

[ really, his entire family is rich as hell. He has no idea what it's like to even be a common person, or at least that's how he was raised. ]

[Ansem laughs at that. To have the gall to even try smacks of reckless bravery at best.]

So bold, for one without a Clan.

In the old days, families were referred as Clans. So, technically I do belong to one. The Argeneau Clan.
