[ This Vanitas sure doesn't seem to be doing much, does he? No Unversed appear in the halls, and he's just sort of... there. Standing in the middle of the hall, blankly staring at nothing in particular.

Were it not for his helmet, one might notice his rather blank eyes. At this rate, you could punch him, flick him in the helmet, or draw scribbles on his visor, and he really wouldn't care.

Certainly not the Creeper people love to hate, huh? ]

doublecrunch's post. I'll still be doing backtags on the fight post in due time. As for spoilers, there probably will be some. Tread carefully.

He'll be back to normal in a few days, so enjoy this while it lasts. ]

[... um. was this the Vanitas guy Riku was talking about? Sora's going to err on the side of caution and stand a ways away, just watching him curiously.]

[ He doesn't move much, though one hand clenches into a fist. ]

[if he's not going to say anything, then Sora will pipe up first.]

[ His voice is soft, without any real inflections. He sounds blank and maybe a little bit dazed. ]

Um.. Yeah, there are lots of people here who've got them. Are you okay?

[Sora has no reason to suspect anything, really, and this zombie guy doesn't really look like he'll be starting any fights-- so he starts walking closer.]

Forge... the χ-blade.

[ It sounds just like "Keyblade", although he means something else entirely. ]

Huh? How do you forge a Keyblade?

[Sora's starting to wonder if Van's got a few screws loose, stepping closer and patting his arm.]

C'mon. You sound like you need a nap, or something.

[ When Sora touches Van's arm, he swats it away. Though he may not realize it, Vanitas is looking at him carefully. ]

Tell me... where...

[Sora pulls back, his hand at his side instinctively to call his Keyblade.]

Where's what? I don't know how to forge a Keyblade, sorry.

[ He straightens a little. ]

He's not... I want--

[ Fumbling over his words, Vanitas hesitates for a moment. ]

Ventus... Where is Ventus?

Ventus? I have no idea who that is. -- But, I'm sure he's around somewhere.

[now he's stuck on how to get this guy somewhere to stand blankly that's not the middle of the hallway. maybe if he nudges cautiously?]

[ ...why are you doing that? A part of him is tempted to push or something. He feels strange, clouded, and it's hard for him to focus. ]

Where?

[because Sora is pretty convinced that you're brain damaged, or very sick at the least, and a nearby room is safer than standing in the hallway like a sitting duck. nudging again!]

I dunno. What's he look like? I'll find him for you.

[ He catches Sora's hand. For just a brief moment, he manages to speak above a whisper. ]

[ ...And then he's back to his dull, soft speaking. ]

[that contact sends an ice cold shockwave through him-- it's enough to get Sora to jerk his hand away, his face a mixture of confusion and surprise. there's something really off about this guy, and it's not just the brain damage.]

Everything's a jumbled up mess. A part of him's tempted to do something to this boy, but what? Why can't he think straight beyond-- ]

[ There are far too many Vanitae around here lately. Kairi is staring at him warily, paused in the hallway ahead of him. ]

[ He slowly looks over to Kairi. ]

Princess...

[ It was the first thing that came to mind! ]

[Sora can hear the warning bells thudding in his brain like a bad headache, and his hand outstretches again to call his Keyblade. still, there's a nagging doubt in the back of his head, thinking back to a particular incident involving time traveling and misidentifying a certain Pete. was this even the correct Vanitas? maybe all this Vanitas wants to do is drive his steamboat. maybe he makes Keyblades for a living-- Sora has no idea.]

Do you have one of these?

[he nods curtly at the Keyblade in his own hand-- it's just Kingdom Key, so take that as you will, Vanitas.]

[ At first, he's completely still. However, in time he looks at the two Unversed and then steps out of the way. ]

[ That Keyblade... ]

Yes.

[ He holds out his hand, summoning Void Gear. ]

[ She frowns and steps closer at the odd response. ]

Vanitas?

And I thought Ventus was slow.

[Sora lifts his own Keyblade, grabbing it directly below the teeth with his other hand and studying it curiously.]

I don't get it, then. Why would you want to forge a Keyblade if you've already got one?
