[This whole situation was confusing to say the least. He had no idea where even 'here' was, though it did bear a dislikable resemblance to the Castle That Never Was, he wasn't willing to buy into the idea that he somehow was actually back there -at least not yet. And while his first instinct would have been to figure out what was going on all by himself, his encounter with this mysterious girl somehow introduced the unshakable feeling that he should keep close to her -he just couldn't fathom why.

So rather than fight it, his pursuit of that thought had left them here as he tried to understand just why she was so spooked around him. The look in her eyes at some points had him swearing that she saw a ghost or something.
