little boy blue and the man on the moon

[as always, the Dressing Room is unforgiving in the spells and curveballs it decides to throw at its residents- today, one of the teenier denizens is on the receiving end! although, aside from the spells that made his parents act completely different than normal, Sora's never really minded them.]

[that said, please don't trip over the very small lion kitten curled up fast asleep on the floor. unplanned power naps have always been one of Sora's talents.]

[.... well, she almost tripped on him. Good thing she managed to grab a nearby couch for support.]

What--

[his kitten face scrunches up a little, fighting to sleep- it's an easy victory; Sora rolls over onto his back, tiny paws in the air. do kittens snore? it probably sounds like a purr.]

[That caught her attention, and she's curiously looking at that kitten. Something about it is... familiar. SHe kneels down on the floor next to it, gloved hand poking gently at the top of the kitten's head.]

[that makes his front paws sort of twitch, and he stretches with a huge kitty yawwwwwwwwwwwwn- one more poke and he'll be completely awake, Naminé.]

[A poke then! This cub is too familiar.]

[Naminé has successfully activated a very sleepy looking kitty-- he flops on his side and rolls until he's lying on his belly, blinking up at her. he looks a bit confused.]

Huunnhh?

[... Hi there, 'bug the cub. Riku nearly stepped on him, but upon catching sight of the kid, steps back a bit. Huh.]

[That voice is too familiar.]

... what are you doing napping here?

.... M'sleepin, Miss Pretty Lady.

[someone doesn't realize he's a kitten, so when he tries to stand up, his four legs wobble and he faceplants. oof!]

[hello, Keyku! Sora's tail twitches slightly, like he senses Riku there, but he doesn't seem to be waking up in the slightest.]

... bug?!

[sort of.. flops around, really confused. his fur is even puffing out a little.]

What- I have too many feet!

You're a lion cub.

[And she'll helpfully try to set him on his feet properly.]

-- I am? Hey!

[he wobbles again, but looks like he'll be standing on his four legs. kind of. Sora puffs up and inhaaaales- yeah, he's totally going to try roaring.]

[She's not expecting a roar, really. More like a mewl.]

How did you end up like that?

[it doesn't help that he cracks up laughing in the middle of his very terrifying meow-like roar, and flops back down.]

I dunno! I guess I took a really big cat nap so then I turned into a cat!

Are you sure you didn't eat anything weird?

Kitty!

[it is a Riku, and he is beside himself with glee because you are asleep and therefore cannot get away when he dives to grab you up 8D!]

... You can turn into a cat if you eat somethin' weird?

[oh geez, now Sora's trying to figure out what it was, let's see.. spaghetti, apple juice, a banana, green beans-- he's totally going to blame the green beans.]

[He's half tempted to pick the kiddo up and move him somewhere safer, but for now he'll opt for giving him a light tap to get his attention.]

[ack! that wakes him right up, and he squirms wildly in Riku's arms.]

Wha- hey!

Mm-mmm-- Five more minutes..

[rolls on his side, tail still twitching. in Sora's defense, he's always taken pretty deep naps.]

[and all that squirming makes Riku plunk down on his butt, though he's still got his arms wrapped around the 'kitty']

You can talk!

Knowing this place, yes. What did you eat?

I had green beans! An' now I'm a cat!

... I don't think green beans can do that. They're good for kids like you.

[wriggles a little, his fur puffing out a little frustration.]

'Course I can talk, Riku!

'Course it was! 'Cause, 'cause I've eaten everything else before an' I didn't turn into a cat!

[loosens up a bit, but it's pretty obvious he doesn't want to let go]

[... wait a minute.]

Hey! I'm a cat!

Yeah! I'm gonna take you home, okay?

[derp, scrambling to try to drag the 'kitty' with him so he doesn't get away]

[oh geez, Sora flops around, trying to escape.]

But I already got a home, Riku!

[er, well, sort of. he doesn't technically live with the correctly aged dads at the moment.]

[Sora may need to use some well-placed kicks to escape; Riku's had practice with bringing animals home whether they want to go or not. admittedly, cats usually flee before he gets a hold of them!]

Then how come you're sleepin' out here? Come on, I'll show you where my bed is!

I dunno! I didn't mean to!

[when the flailing doesn't work, he tries to clamber over Riku's shoulder instead.]

[that seems to work better, yes. it makes Riku stumble a little, loosening his grip]

Hey!

[all right! Sora leaps off his shoulder and lands as ungracefully as possible for an awkward kitten-- he faceplants.]

Oof!

Hey...

[Here, have another tap on the head.]

[he narrowly misses faceplanting himself, grabbing onto the couch to keep from falling over]

How'm I gonna take you home with me if you keep getting away?

[that makes him lift his head, blinking sleepily up at Riku.]

Huh? Why're you poking me?

[Sora struggles to his feet, quite confused about how to walk with four feet instead of two- watch as he stumbles about comically for a few minutes.]

I can visit you, Riku, but I can't come live with you.. I've already got a home, an' I gotta wait for my Daddies to get back!

But if your Daddies aren't there who's gonna feed you?

[neener neener, he has the opposable thumbs]

[fwumps on the floor.]

I can feed me! I have really old daddies and they're kinda my daddies but they're older and they feed me spaghetti! And pizza rolls!

How're you gonna open stuff?

[he just seems overall confused about this 'old daddies' business]

Because you're snoozing in the middle of the hall, Sora. If you're not careful, someone might trip.
