[There's a bit of an odd sight in one section of the library today; there's about four skeletal arms that look like they're growing out of Red's shoulders as he stands in front of a particularly high shelf. His jacket is thrown over the back of a nearby chair, which is sitting in front of a table with a few books on lycanthropy stacked on it, as well as a folded pair of glasses. The arms are odd- it's not that he has two extra pairs sticking out of his shoulders, more that there's one pair, and then that pair happens to be holding up another pair. One hand of the top pair is free, the other is... holding what appears to be a glass eye the size of a baseball. Red himself has his eyes closed, and the hand holding the glass eye seems to be moving in a way that suggests he's looking through it somehow. After a moment, the free hand grabs a book from that particular high shelf and the arm bends down awkwardly so Red can take it. Why isn't he just climbing up there to look properly? Because for some reason, all the ladders that he's come across in the library are broken.]

[There are at least two sets of footsteps moving around this section of the library. One of them is getting closer to him, before it abruptly cuts off. The second gets louder and louder until-- Spooked. That's a good word for Riku's expression, since she was only half-glancing into the aisle as she ran past. The sight of the bones make her slip; she clips her hip on the table with a grunt and a muffled curse.]

[That gets him to open his eyes and look over, raising an eyebrow as the arm holding the glass eye lowers enough so he can take that, too. It gets stuffed in his pocket, and the arms poof away, a couple pieces of string falling to the floor.]

You alright?

[dawnrise]

[Riku's eyes are on him, half-confused and half-pained because that hurt. Her hand goes to her hip and she shakes her head.]

No... What were you-- Nevermind.

[And she takes off again.]

[You'll see a fifteen-year-old boy walking in, and staring at Red. He's giving you the 'you're crazy' look.]

...What the heck was that.

[Yes, his tone is very, very flat.]

-hold on a minute!

[Where the hell is she going. He's going to follow her.]

Just a trick of mine.

[He doesn't seem bothered by the look, or the tone.]

[She is not quite limping away with a hand on her hip to god knows where. But she stops when he calls her, looking back at him.]

What?

What are you doing?

[He looks confused. And curious.]

Trying to catch someone. Or I was.

[Man, that hurt, stupid table. She's going to bruise.]

Someone?

[Colour him curious. And he's got a potion somewhere in his pockets if you'd care to mention that it's going to bruise, Riku-]

[Of course not. She does, however, seem aggravated now, looking around.]

The older me.

...why?

[There's definitely got to be a reason behind that.]

[Tch, yeah, since the only other time she's seen her she walked right back out.]

I wanted to ask her something.

Ah.

[He kind of wants to ask what, but- not his business, really. And he's got books to read, too.]

What kind of insane trick is growing four arms to get a book off a shelf you can't reach?

[He walks a little closer to get a better look.]

I doubt it. You don't look much like a Halloween Town kid.

... It's not important.

[Or at least, she won't make it seem like it. Now she's giving him a curious look.]

What were you doing?

Gathering a couple books.

[Should she be surprised anymore?]

[Funny. He's never heard of Hallowe'en Town, but he swears to God he knows that face. Or, he would swear to God if Radiant Garden had a local religion, but they don't, so meh.

Hmm, maybe it was one of the kids living on the other side of town...]

[Awright, kid, you just keep staring at him. He's just gonna put his book on the table.]
