[ This Riku doesn't even get the opportunity to stumble through a door, at least, or even some kind of portal. He just appears, suddenly enough to stumble, getting his bearings as he straightens up and looks around. One hand lifts, but he doesn't call Way to Dawn just yet.

Instead he slowly, softly begins to frown in confusion, his other hand coming up to brush his hair out of his face. ]

... what is this place? Weren't we just on the islands?

[ ... curls that lifted hand into a fist, briefly, then lets it drop and starts to walk. Time to find out what's going on here. ]

So you were able to make it to the beach? Lucky. [Stumbling and walking right into her path, that's not nice, but she doesn't look too surprised to see him. Yes Riku, this is a female.. self of yours. Her hair was in a ponytail and she was in scrubs, carrying a basket of laundry.]

Are you who I think you are?

Most likely yes. Are you roughly the same verse as me? Sora's a guy, Kairi's a girl, that sort of thing? [Tips her head, she's being so.. nonchalant about this. Funny, since her beginning here wasn't so different (okay except she was soaked). Shifts the basket on her hip.]

Keyblades and beating up the Organization and so on?

Okaaay... that makes just about as much sense as my being here in the first place.

[ looks underwhelmed, really, but only because he doesn't really know how to process this. he's a bit awkward, even, confronted with a female version of himself. ]

But yeah, that sounds about right. So are you... are we really...? [ gestures between them. "the same person?" ]

Yeah. Similar universe but just different enough that they're not connected. [Makes a half 'follow me' motion with a tip of her head, she's going to keep walking. That basket is friggin heavy okay?] This place is called the Dressing Room. It's a crossroads where worlds are all tied together. Pretty much everything behind these doors leads to a room or a world.

[Pauses for a moment to glance back.] Problem is, all the worlds are empty. There's no way to get to our true homes that anyone's found yet.

[ ... well. that's that, then. he follows her, though he's still got his guard up 100%. it wouldn't surprise him if this turned out to be some sort of trap. ]

Empty... so no people, no Heartless, no nothing? What about Organization XIII? My- our friends?

The worlds may be empty but the hallways aren't. With all the other dimensions connecting as well, there's multiples of everyone.. and sometimes Heartless and Nobodies are here too. [Oh, when she opens the laundry room, a Kairi is walking out, and was that a much smaller version of Riku walking with her? Steps aside to let them pass, but does a half gesture.]

There are.. an unlimited amount of dimensions as there are worlds. Some of the Organization members are just normal people here. Kairi and Sora are generally as they are, though there's multiples of them too.

What... [ Kairi? Seeing her is what finally gets him to react. Or do something, at least, besides go with the flow. He freezes up, unable to make his voice work before she's out the door and gone with that littleku.

In silence he lets his female self talk, but he's radiating tenseness now. It seems to have sunk in that this isn't some sort of dream ]

How do I know this isn't some kind of trick?

Pinch yourself if you think you're still dreaming. [Enjoy the shrug, she's not sure how to convince him other than letting him know what the place is. Sets her basket down at a washing machine and starts sorting clothes to put in. Yep, there's the outfit that looks just like the one he's wearing even. Some shorts, a few different t-shirts -- whoops you didn't see those bras and panties.]

You look a little confused.

Another one of you? Get used to this place. I don't know many people who've been able to leave—Xion, at least one of her, but I never have.

[Less-hostile Roxas is less-hostile for being plucked pre-Riku fight.]

[ ... actually does so, surreptitiously, of course. when nothing comes of it he just folds his arms over his chest, leaning against the door frame to watch his female self. he raises a brow at the bras and panties, which he totally DID see, but doesn't comment on them. ]

It's not that. I'm just a little tired of having the Organization or Maleficent or someone mess things up.

[ wtf hi Kairi. tries to mask his surprise, but probably doesn't do a terribly good job of it. ]

That's because I am. What is this place?

[ ... of all the people to run into. insta-awkward, but he hides it well. he shifts a little, but doesn't let his hand drop. he'd think a Roxas would be less than happy to see him... ]

So I'm stuck here, is what you're saying. Great. Who's Xion?

[Good choice on not commenting, she'd give a glare even if he's another version of her. Once gets the rest of the laundry in, starts up the washer and adds some detergent.]

That's understandable. Pretty much there won't be any problems here other than the weird curses or if you walk into a bad room.

I just got here.

[ ... man, that outfit's familiar. like from the days when I was dumb. not that he gives any hint he's thinking that, though. ]

You weren't in the middle of anything too terribly important, right?

[ hey, he knows him ... her? ... self pretty well. he'd be annoyed in her shoes, too. just chills out, watching her be all domestic. guess he's going to have to get used to that too, huh... ]

Curses? Bad rooms? [ quiet groan, pinching the bridge of his nose ] Tell me that's not as bad as it sounds.

... this is a dressing room? [ skeptical look around. ] Doesn't look much like one, if you ask me.

[ ... sigh, Kairi. only, you know, reuniting with you and Sora and getting used to the idea that it was all over. he kind of shrugs, smiling a little. ]

[Smiles a little.]

Not your typical dressing room. More like some sort of pocket dimension, really.

[Hey she's still capable of kicking ass when she needs to. It's just the laundry needed doing :| so. Shush. Just chuckles quietly from that look on his face, shutting the washer and hopping up to sit on top of it.]

Occasionally stuff spills out of a bad room and some people get affected, but it's not so horrible that we couldn't live with it. Previously there was something that gave people cat ears and tails. [She shrugged lightly, 'forgetting' to mention it had to do with virginity.]

But you'll want to avoid some rooms since what's inside them is.. well, just keep the door shut. [Scratches the back of her head.]

Pocket dimension? Meaning what, exactly?

[ hey, hey. he doesn't doubt it. it's just kind of weird in the moment. just kind of sighs at her laughter, though, a ghost of a smile on his own face, though it fades over the course of her explanation. ]

... cat ears? [ oh god. ]

Alright. I guess I'll just have to get used to it. But how do I know what to look out for?

Sometimes there's signs on the doors that aren't safe. That's about all I can say, since the rooms sometimes change locations.

... great. [ there's mixed exasperation and resignation and amusement in his tone. she can probably tell. ]

Any other surprises I need to look out for?

Not everyone here led the same lives as we remember them having, and not everyone's a good guy. [She's now starting to frown, remembering hearing something via word of mouth and seeing some scribbled signs around.]

Well, if the Organization is here, I would have figured that. [ pauses a little. ] Sounds like you mean something else, though.

I heard through the grapevine that a guy named Vanitas killed a Kairi. Her body has returned but her heart is missing, so she's in a coma. I've been helping the Sora who found her look for her heart.

Lots of you, and me, and everyone we know. They all come from different times and places.
