[ Even little princesses sometimes forget their manners. Kairi's forgotten that when you've been playing outside enough to get yourself coated in dirt, adults don't like it when you go in the kitchen and touch the food. The poor cookie jar is sporting a muddy handprint, but it's fairly clean compared to the floor. There's a trail of mud going out the door all the way down the hall!

It's obvious who it was, too, by her muddy feet and hands, the smears across her dress, and the way her bangs are sticking up from the muck. That's what she's thinking about as she crunches down on a chocolate chip cookie, eying her hair in a small mirror on the fridge. ]

I bet grandma wouldn't even recognize me.

Kairi?

[Man, she's so messy! He's a little bit surprised as he watches from the entrance to the kitchen.]

[squeaks into the cookie, whirling around with a big smile.]

Hi, 'enzo!

Hello there.

[Aw. Messy or not, he doesn't care. Ienzo's walking in to give her a little hair ruffle.]

[he's gonna get mud on his hand doing that. Kairi's giggling, but she waits until she swallows to speak.]

I got messy, Ienzo!

So I see! What exactly were you doing, Kairi?

[He doesn't mind the mud. He can always wash his hands later, after all.]

Playing!

[he'd probably object to a hug though, huh?]

Playing? Ah, but where?

[Eh. He can always get a clean shirt, but he's wearing white right now.]

On a mountain.

[she remembers hugging Even once after she'd been finger-painting. boy, did she get in trouble.]

A mountain? All by yourself, Kairi?

[Yeah well, Ienzo's less grouchy than Even can be. Plus Kairi's his 'sis'.]

It was a baby mountain.

[aka, a large pile of dirt. ~~and a water hose.~~]

You had me worried for a moment.

[Aaand he gives a sigh of relief.]

In any case, you're awfully messy. Perhaps you should change into some cleaner clothes.

[she's pouting a little now.]

Can I eat first?

Oh, of course. Still, Kairi, you should probably change afterward.

I know. I'm really dirty. Grandma'd make me take a bath right now!

Oh? Well, now that I have such a valuable piece of information...

[Ekeke...]

[oops!]

Noooo, Ienzooo!

[She spots the dirty little one from a distance, walking past as nonchalantly as possible, until she realizes that she recognizes that red hair.]

Kairi? [She slowly smiles.] What happened?

[He laughs, giving her a very sneaky look.]

It's too late now, Kairi. I've but no choice but to sentence you to... cleanliness.

[...okay, that sounds ridiculous.]

Honestly, though, you needn't fret over it now if you truly would wish to avoid a bath.

[those are some big eyes turning her way.]

Miss Aqua!

[she gasps, but bursts into giggles soon after - it's ridiculous, but she's sure there's a real threat in there!]

I wanna take a bath! But I wanna eat first. Pleeeeeease?

[She goes down on one knee before the girl, smiling.]

Are you okay?

Uh huh! I was playing outside.

[she moves closer, and the only thing stopping her from hugging Aqua is that she doesn't want to get her dirty.]

Did you have fun?

[She reaches out and touches the girl's head fondly.]

Here, let's clean off your hands, at least.

Well, as I said, you ought to finish your meal first.

[He shakes his head, but it's in amusement above all else. Silly Kairi.]

[Oh, but she does. And that tone of her voice shows it. Tsk, tsk, little lady.]
