[ Riku's sitting in the kitchen, but she couldn't tell you why. She's not in the mood to be around people, and she's not eating; the only thing in front of her is the half-empty cup of coffee she's staring at. Her head rests across one of her arms on the table, and her hair's hiding most of her face. For those that can sense it, the darkness in her heart is a lot stronger than normal. Nothing overwhelming, but it's noticeable. ]

[...Well, he's not going to say anything when he enters the kitchen, heading for the fridge to grab something to snack on that isn't his usual stuff.]

[She's startled by him appearing, and lifts her head up- then promptly drops it with an irritated look.]

[That's almost enough to get him to crack a grin, but he holds it back for the most part as he digs out someone's leftover cake.]

[Good thing. Not that she'd notice if he did, as she's not looking at him. Her gaze is centered on that cup of coffee.]

[Hopping up onto the counter to enjoy this lovely chocolate cake now.]

So what's the problem?

[Tilts her head to look at him, but doesn't lift it.]

What problem?

Something has to be bothering you. Have you even noticed all that darkness hanging off you?

[Tch. Back to the coffee.]

I haven't had the best week.

Ah yes, January. Apparently that was an eventful month.

[Nevermind. She's looking at him again, very closely, trying to figure out what he's talking about. He can't possibly know.]

I wasn't around for much of it myself, so all my knowledge of the spells and things that went on is secondhand.

I'd rather not say, if it's all the same.

[Narrows her eyes, then just scoffs and turns back to the coffee.]

Should've seen that coming.

If you were hiding would you want your older self to tell someone where you were?

No, but I-- Why is he hiding?

Can't say I've ever been a social butterfly. His only friend's been mad at him for being concerned when she was injured. What's the point hanging around?

[This he's fine with telling, since the younger him never would.]

[Well she sits up, staring at him like she almost doesn't understand. You're totally imagining the way her shoulders slump.]

Are you kidding me?

'Fraid not.

[He pauses to have a bit of that cake he snagged before continuing.]

You think a place like Halloween Town is good for building friendships? He might be older than you, but he's still pretty new to all that.

[Opens her mouth to say something, then shuts it, looking irritated all over again. She leans back in her seat, tilting her head back all the way to stare at the ceiling.]

That's so stupid.

And you're surprised? After all, this is me we're talking about. You don't always show that you think anything other than that.

This isn't my fault.

[Still staring at the ceiling.]

What am I supposed to do?

Both of you are at fault.

[Finishes off the cake and sets the plate aside.]

Not much you can do other than wait it out. Even if I told you where he was, you wouldn't be able to find him.

[Glances at him.]

What makes you say that?

He's hiding somewhere familiar to him. I think that's a good enough hint.
