Because the last thing I remember was getting wounded by ShinRa people, saying some really sappy things, and giving Roxas my sword. Then everything went really dark for a second and I ended up here.

...Cloud kinda... well, went crazy and tried to destroy the city. I tried to stop him, but... anyway, I must've been really injured because next thing I know I'm in a test tube with Roxas in Vexen's lab.

How're you feeling? I don't trust Vexen one bit, he better not have done anything to you or I'm chasing after him myself. And is Roxas with you? Poor kid must have been scared out of his mind.

Well, I feel not dead? We escaped, but Roxas couldn't do much of anything because of mako poisoning. But ShinRa troops caught up with us, so... I never made it make to Midgar. I'm really sorry, Riku.
