[Today, there is an Isa in the library, nestled quite happily in one of the chairs around the place. To judge by the books lying on the floor nearby, he was most likely looking for something and got a little distracted along the way.

Backing up this theory is the fact that he's currently puzzling his way through the Guinness Book of World Records. For him, this is an endeavor that could probably benefit from either a dictionary or a thesaurus; in true teenager style (read: stubbornness), he has neither.

Feel free to come and bother him, just be warned that he may ask questions about whatever he happens to not understand.]

[seeing someone he's acquainted with reading such a large and (depending on which annual volume it is) hallucinogenic book makes him curious, and he approaches.]

[There's a pause at that, while Isa flips back to the front cover.]

It says it's the 'Guinness Book of World Records'.

I don't think it says.

Oh. Does it say anything about a place called Australia? 'Cause then it's probably Earth. And if it says stuff about magic, then it's definitely not Earth.

I haven't gotten that far yet. [a pause and then:] What's an 'automobile'?

I have no idea. But auto means something like "itself", and mobile means to be able to move...

...But most things can move on their own. Or most living things, anyway.

And that must mean that it's not living, since they need to point it out that it moves. Maybe it's a robot?

A robot?

[Isa does not understand this term.]

Yeah, like Dr. Even used to do! Complex machines that you program to do different things. Sometimes they resemble people. I have a brother named Richard, and he's a robot!

Like computers?

Yes, but some of them can move around too.

Weird.

[He... may or may not have a mental image of hovering box-things.]

[Hey, he hadn't heard computers either before he came to the dressing room.]

Why would someone make something like that?

I dunno. For science? For money? 'Cause it's cool?

It's strange. And there's better uses for what you make them from.

...What are robots made of?

Metal and wires and silicone chips and stuff.

[Well, at least those mostly make sense. But...]

Silicone?

Yeah. With tiny circuits that act sort of like synapses in your brain.

[Very odd.]

But why bother?

I dunno.

[it's just one of those things that people do.]

It doesn't make sense.

[After all, the metal can be used better for armor, right?]

Maybe it doesn't... that's just the way it is.
