[ there is an odd noise, like hundreds of small, squeaky propellers, coming from behind a set of dark and elaborate doors. if one were to open the doors, they'd see Rapid Thrusters filling the entire room, milling about loudly as they are wont to do. ]

[ the noise changes as all the Heartless stop moving about and turn to him, almost all at the same time. Heart. ]

[ the Heartless all start forward, even with the door closed. the sound of them hitting it is loud, but it doesn't seem like they can get out.

a shadow slips under the door silently. ]

[mumbles, focused on keeping the door shut and looking if there's any lock.]

[ the Heartless inside eventually calm, going back to their mindless milling, but the shadow on the floor shifts and rises up, still completely silent. ]

[he turns to go, and--oh god what's this, now.]

... nice creepy shadow thing.

[ it twitches, staring up at him with unblinking yellow eyes. Heart. ]

[ it doesn't seem to take kindly to the yelling, though in actuality, it's just been watching to see if Riku would be an easy target. you might want to run, because it's launching at you. ]

[ it follows surprisingly fast, sinking back into the floor as it goes. there may or may not be a few more joining it. perhaps just a trick of the... light. ]

[ooh, interesting noise! :O hears it from some distance away, and follows it through the halls until he reaches the doors. pushes one of them open with minimal effort considering his size, and peeks in-- ooooh flying things. stares curiously up at them.]

[ they all stop as soon as the door opens, twitching to face his direction. Heart, they see, but danger too. the first wave approaches quickly nonetheless. ]

[headtilts at them when they all turn to face him, but that quickly turns to bristling in fear and anger when a wave of them heads for him. braces himself against the doors -- did he just lean against the one he came in? oops -- and brings up a curved wall of flame in front of him that the first Heartless will have to fly through if they want to get to him.]

[ a Heartless' intelligence is questionable; they run purely on instinct, or so it's been said. however, intelligence is not needed when instinct can tell them that the fire is dangerous. the second wave stalls. ]

I'm so horrible.

[reaches blindly behind himself to paw at the doors to try and get them open again, but even that little split in his concentration is enough to make the flames waver and diminish somewhat, enough for some of the Heartless to get through if they're brave enough~]

[ and the second wave commences, swarming him through the fire, twitching and whirring. on their own they aren't particularly strong, and they can feel that there is something dangerous about this one, so they don't attack just yet. instead, they gather around him, attempting to stall and to immobilize, as the numbers around him grow. ]

[panics, the fire flaring up around him automatically and then guttering out just as quickly as he flattens himself against the doors, eyes going yellow as Hachibi takes control easily, to protect his host. the fire's suddenly there again, a lot hotter, and a lot stronger.]

[ the Heartless are burned away easily, but there are more. many more. and when suddenly the danger is there, they all start forward at once, hoping to confuse this thing so at least one will be able to get at the Heart. ]

[growls loudly, swatting four or five of them right out of the air with a reach made larger by chakra, incinerating any that come too close to him, and flares his chakra widely to push more of them away.]

[ with the way they continue to rush him, their numbers are quickly dwindling. but it soon becomes obvious that they are not the only Heartless within this room. ]

[Hachibi snarls, feeling his chakra draining away because Axel's body is worn out already and trying to leech energy from whatever it can; expands the fire to blast the last of the tiny ones, and turns toward the larger one drifting in the background, rumbling threateningly.]

[ with the Thrusters gone, the new Heartless drifts closer slowly, stopping some distance away and bending back. it remains that way, straining backwards, before its upper half flies forward and hits the floor, creating a shockwave that moves along the floor around it on all sides, heading straight towards Axel. ]

[oh shit. waits for it to get a little closer, and then jumps, kicking off of the wall and hurtling towards the big Heartless, hopefully tackling it up near the top, since it moves so slowly.]
