[Namine looks like she's been busy today. Her dress is dusted with flour and cake batter, along with a few smudges on her cheeks, but she doesn't seem to mind. She's headed towards the rain room anyways. If she knows Riku as well as she thinks she does, that's where he'd be on his birthday.]

[He wouldn't normally be in there on his birthday, but he's got a lot on his mind. He's in his usual spot atop a rock that hangs out over the pond. Also, the skies aren't just raining, there's thunder and lightning going on- perhaps the room's way of reflecting his mood.]

[She can tell when he has a lot on his mind. Not to mention she already checked the library and his room, so. yeah, hi, there now. and getting soaked as she walks over and gives him a hug.]

[Not expecting that. He just kind of sadfaces, looking away a little.]

[Just kneels down behind him, keeping that hug and just leans against his back. She'll give him a little while before she asks what's wrong.]

[He's just sitting there, keeping to himself. He appreciated her company more than it seems, but he's still pretty stressed out.]

[Just rests her chin on his shoulder and absently rubs his back with one hand.]

What's wrong, Riku?

[Lets out a sigh, waiting a bit to speak.]

...Things.

What kind of things?

[Hugs him with one arm around his middle, though the other hand keeps rubbing.]

Things that are my fault.

[Don't worry, he's not pulling an emoku. Just dwelling a little too much on things.]

Riku...

[Forces herself into his lap and looks up at him.]

Can you please just tell me what's bothering you?

[Looks away again. He's not so fond of eye contact right now.]

It's because of me that you had to use those wings again.

Oh, Riku, it's okay. The urges are starting to go away already. Don't feel guilty about it.

[Okay, so that was a lie. They're not going away, she's just getting good at ignoring them.]

[And he's actually ready to believe her.]

And I still wasn't able to protect you from anything. Our geminis or m-myself...

[Sighs and hugs him again.]

That's not your fault. I should be able to protect myself.

[Shakes his head.]

You shouldn't have to protect yourself. I should be able to keep you safe, but I'm not. not strong enough.

Why? Because you're a guy and I'm a girl? I should be able to help you out of some situations too, but I wasn't able to either. And there was even a guy in the room that I could have been controlling, but I didn't.

You can't blame yourself for these things.

[Strokes his cheek gently, absently brushing some wet strands of hair away from his face.]

I can when it feels like it's all my fault.

[He's a little comforted by that hand on his cheek though, sighing quietly.]

Well, it's not.

[Brings his face down to her level and kisses his forehead.]

It's not. your fault. I don't know how else I can drill it into your head.

You keep insisting it's not, so maybe it isn't. Still feels like it though, even if I can admit it isn't.

[Finally looks her in the eyes, a somewhat apologetic expression still on his face.]

Ignore the feeling. It's wrong.

[Gives him a small smile and wraps her arms around his neck.]

But let's forget that for now and just have fun. It is your birthday after all.

[Smiles slightly at last.]

I guess that means you have plans?

[Smiles and nods.]

I do. But first, I think we're going to need to get in something a little less. wet.

[Lets out a laugh and flicks a wet strand of her own hair away from her face.]

[Breathes a laugh, pushing away some of his own wet hair.]

I think you're right.

[Laughs and stands, offering him a hand.]

[Takes it, standing up and shivering just a bit.]
