[there suddenly seems to be another Roxas appearing in the dressing room. common occurrance, right? but... there's something different about this one. he's not awake, but he doesn't seem to have any sign of harm and it doesn't look like he's going to wake up any time soon on his own.
he's lying on his side on the floor, wearing plain, unremarkable clothes. overall it seems to be just another roxas, until one happens take a look at his back. the dfference then becomes quite clear: there is a very large wind-up key sticking out of his back.
it just begs for someone to come use it.]

carefully, quietly, he shuffles closer, leaning his cane against the wall as he struggles to slide down to his knees, curious hands reaching out to wind the key.]

upon the stem of the key there is a small insignia - or rather, what's left of it. most of it seems to have been scratched past recognition. other than that, it seems to be a normal key.]
no subject
...you're not the Professor.
[his voice has a slight mechanical tint to it, and his tone is merely that of confusion.]
no subject
no subject
U-uh, no, sorry. I'm Sora.

the blond sits up, and then he notices demyx. his eyes and he shuffles backward, locking eyes with Demyx. confusion abounds!]
I... Demyx? But I- I thought you got out ages ago. What are you doing back here?
no subject
[for a few seconds he still looks at Sora, his gaze appraising. then, he frowns, almost glaring.]
What are you doing here? The professor doesn't allow trespassers in... his lab... uhm.
[seems like he's finally noticed where he is. or rather, where he isn't.]
no subject
I think you might be lost.
no subject
I thought you might be new. This isn't your professor's lab, it's a... well, it's a big place that a lot of different people get pulled into, and there's not really a way to leave.
no subject
Lost where? I...
[he looks around the room, and eventually rests his gaze back on Demyx.]
...is this where you've been all this time?
no subject
Uh, okay, wait. Back up, this isn't going right. See, I'm not the Demyx you know.
no subject
...you do realize how ridiculous that sounds?
[he looks a little cautious now.]
You're not lying to me, are you?
no subject
Well, did he make another, then?
[clearly his Demyx was very different from this one. he leans to the side, looking past Demyx. and then he realizes...]
...uh. You don't have a key.
no subject
Yeah, exactly. I wasn't made.
[not really.]
no subject
But... you are Demyx. Or, uhm, a Demyx.
[he reaches up to smooth his messy bangs away from his eyes.
This is really weird.
[and coming from this Roxas, that's saying something.]
no subject
I'm a Demyx, sure, but we're not from the same universe. So I'm not your Demyx. It's like how I know a Roxas, except he doesn't have one of those -
[and he points to the key.]
- either.

[the key isn't difficult to turn; it must have been well-oiled. it begins to wind back again, indicating that he's been sufficiently wound. after a pause of a few seconds, the blond's neck jerks to the side a little and he sits up.]
Again? I thought I got wound up enough bef...
[trailing off, he notices the demure blond girl next to him. she reminds him very much of someone he knew.]
You're... hm. I suppose I should say thanks for winding me up?
[he's not quite so bitter this time; more confused, really. not that that was going to wear off anytime soon. but at least he sort of had an idea of what was going on now.]
no subject
...where I come from, the wind-up key is nothing. But you, being not-my-Demyx, wouldn't know that, I guess.
[seems like he's forgiven the taller blond for his "transgression". what a kind soul Roxas is!]
no subject
[Smiles hesitantly at him, nodding slightly.]
You're welcome. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to, I was just... curious.
no subject
No, it's fine. I need someone around to wind it for me whenever my time's up. I can't do it myself.
[to demonstrate, he reaches around to his back, attempting to grasp the key. his efforts fail and he just sort of flails a little.]
no subject
That has to be annoying.
no subject
Y'think? It's not all that bad though. There's usually someone around to wind it.
[now he tilts his head to the side curiously, folding his legs under him.]
...it's Namine, right?
no subject
[The smile fades for a moment before it returns and she nods.]
Mmhm. And you're Roxas?
no subject
well. he'd just have to avoid them.
he files that thought somewhere in his mind for later use, instead focusing on the situation at hand. too much thought and his circuits might overload!]
Yeah. I just got here. It's... something new? To say the least. What about you? Have you been here long?
no subject
[She hasn't exactly been keeping track of time. She doesn't care; this place is infinitely better than where she was before as long as she avoids the previously mentioned bad people.]
no subject
[but what else could he believe? he was lost in this place, although it didn't seem that hard to get one's bearings. Roxas shrugs, shaking his head.]
Whatever. It's probably better than the old lab... so what do they have here? More than just this room I'd think.
no subject
[Covers her mouth with a hand for a moment, smiling.]
From what I've seen, if you can think of it, it's probably around here somewhere.
no subject
Seriously!? Like... uh... I don't know, outside places? Or somewhere to stay? Not that I need to sleep, but...
no subject
[Looks around almost hesitantly.]
I can show you around, if you'd like?
no subject
That sounds good.
[he stands up and dusts himself off, even though there is no dust on him to speak of. now he offers a hand to Namine. should she take it, she would find it to feel like a regular hand, but... colder, and a little harder.]
no subject
Is there anything you'd like to see first?
no subject
[he raises a hand to his chin, cocking his head to the side and looking around. he's never really been off of lab property before so he's not even sure where to start.]
...well, some of those outdoor places sound nice. Maybe the garden?
no subject
[She'll just start heading for the door, then.]
no subject
So where did you come from? I mean, what was your world like?
no subject
Well, there was magic.
