[ Taking the opportunity of an empty pool to have some time alone to clear her head, Riku's snagged her blue tankini and gone for a swim. She's already spent the better part of an hour in the water, but it doesn't look like she's going to stop any time soon.

Naturally, this means she should be pestered. ]

[the door bursts open, and a small Kai runs in, looking over his shoulder. he probably looks a little older than what Riku would've seen last, not to mention he seems to have gotten a haircut and for some reason is carrying a wooden sword. he doesn't have that bell collar either, but there's a slightly worn pink ribbon around his wrist. he skids to a stop when he sees that this is definitely not the play island, not even noticing Riku just yet.]

[the door busting open manages to grab her attention, but the sound of the water drowns out whatever he had to say. Riku twists around to see a Kai she thinks she recognizes, and then... doesn't.]

[lowers the sword and looks around, kind of wide eyed. he never thought he'd come back here. going to take a moment to peek back out the door he came through, hold on.]

[she watches him for a few seconds then starts to drift toward the edge of the pool. curious or not, it's a Kai.]

[well that makes her stop suddenly before she pulls herself to the edge.]

[practically throws the sword down and dashes over to the edge, grinning madly.]

I didn't think I'd ever see you again!

[he's succeeded in totally confusing her, so she'll just take a moment to blink at him.]

[kneels down by the water, looking confused as well.]

I haven't been here for months!

[... pulls herself out of the pool to sit beside him.]

[frowns deeply, trying to figure out how that works.]

It's the dressing room, Kai. But that doesn't matter. Did you go back?

[concerned Riku is concerned.]

[grins again, nodding.]

Uh-huh! I went back and made friends with everyone, and me and Riku and Sora have swordfights a lot.

[smiling now. she's not really surprised to hear that.]

I bet. Who wins?

Riku does most of the time, but me and Sora are gonna beat her one day.

[smiles, almost leaning into the touch.]

[pauses, then holds her arms out for a hug. ignore the fact that she's soaked.]

[oh please, he's gotten soaked in his clothing tons of times. pretty much launching into her arms now.]

[figured as much, and now she's hugging him tight. too bad she can't really say she missed him too, but he hasn't been gone for her.]
