[ There's a girl running into the main room, carrying what looks like a bear trap in her hands. She's dressed for Halloween, a large and pointy witch hat on her head and a green mask on her face, and she notices the change immediately, skidding to a stop. ]

[Oho, a Halloween Town resident~? He doesn't recognize her, though.]

[looks up at him, completely ignoring the question.]

Who're you?

Name's Red. You?

[That's fine, he didn't really expect an answer to that.]

[if he could see under that mask he'd see the face she's making.]

Why do you want to know?

Aw, what, you get to know my name but I don't get to know yours?

[He leans forward, a dangerous smirk in place.]

Not a very fair brat, are you?

[she doesn't look intimidated, grabbing the chain of the bear trap with her free hand. her voice sounds sugary sweet~.]

Being fair doesn't always get what you want.

[And he straightens again with a barking laugh.]

You're definitely a Halloween Town kid.

['hmph's, taking off her mask to look at him.]

What's that supposed to mean?

's a compliment, brat.

[His head tilts a bit.]

Who you going after with that thing?

[well why wouldn't she be? and that's a look of angelic innocence on her face.]

No one you'd know.

[and then comes back the bratty tone.]

Who are you, anyway?

So sure about that?

[He taps his chin.]

Ever seen the burnt ground near the graveyard?

[well duh.]

I'm sure. What about it?

That's where my house used to be.

[blinks at him, then puts a big, secretive smile on her face.]

Oh, you're that Red.

"That Red", huh?

[He looks pretty amused.]

That's right. We've heard about you.

Really now.

Yep. Lots of things.

[not that she'll tell.]

I don't believe you.

Why shouldn't you?

I don't know you, I can't trust you.

Who can you trust?

Oh, there's one or two people here I'd trust.

And who's that?

Like I'd tell.

[smiles~]

Well I hope you don't try too hard.

Oh, of course not.

So where am I?

Place called the dressing room. Some sort of crossroads between worlds.

And how did I get here?

Magic.

[Shrug.]

[hmphs.]

That's the kicker.

[starts looking for a way back.]
