[ Riku's in a different kitchen than usual tonight -- one that doesn't get as much traffic as the main one -- standing at the counter and leaning over a cookbook. She seems rather out of her element. Her hair's tied back in a ponytail and she's wearing an apron, for one thing. Said apron is also splattered with cake batter, and one side of her face is smudged with it. Whatever the batter was made for is nowhere in sight, having been thrown into the garbage; a fitting end for such a disaster.

There is, however, a number of bowls soaking in the sink, and a mixer that's waiting to be cleaned.

... Maybe she should just find someone to help. ]

{ Kairi swings in with a new set of crutches, watching as Riku... attempts to bake. She plops herself down on a seat nearby the counter, head titled in curiosity. }

Whatcha bakin'?

A mess.

[well, it's the truth. she looks up and zeroes in on the crutches, brow furrowing.]

Hey.

{ She takes off her backpack filled with things and sets it on her lap, laughing a bit at Riku's reply, waving. } Sure looks like it, but it can't be that bad. A cake, maybe?

That's the idea.

[brushes her hair back, which smears the batter on her face even further, and makes her send a disgusted look toward her hand.]

{ Chuckles. } You sure are a messy baker. Did you put it in the oven yet?

You don't want to know what happened when I got to that part.

[reaches for a napkin to wipe her hand off.]

It... didn't explode or anything, right? { Blink. Rikus don't seem like the type to be all that savvy in the baking area... }

[she is so far from it, it's actually kind of impressive.]

No, that was when I was mixing it.

[which explains the batter covering her.]

Starting to think the kitchen's cursed.

...Well then.

['sup Riku. Hope you don't mind Ienzo popping his head in.]

[well, it's not like she has much of a choice. she looks up, expression resigned.]

What?

It... it actually exploded? Maybe you should start from scratch, if that's the case...

{ P-pause. } I sure do hope nothing cursed or poisoned is in the food people eat...

{ She starts searching through her backpack. }

Sort of. That's what I'm doing. And... I think we would've noticed if people were getting poisoned.

[heads toward the fridge.]

Do you normally carry around medication?

[He was actually looking for more cookbooks for Namine, figuring maybe the other kitchens would have different selections, but just stops when he sees the state of the kitchen.]

.... are you cooking or having a fight with the mixer?

[hey Roxas, you're getting a mild glare. it's not just the comment; she's automatically suspicious of Roxae.]

Trying to cook.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Bake.

[gives him a look, then goes back to reading.]

{ She looks up with a smile, holding bottles of poison antidotes- and actual poisons, oh my. } Maybe I can help you!

{ She sets the bottles down on top of her backpack, scanning their labels carefully, nodding. } Yeah! This place doesn't have much of a clinic, so...

Whatever it is, it certainly seems to be messy...

[Female Rikus glaring at him? Nothing new.]

Trying is a keyword, apparently.

[Just smirks and walks the rest of the way in, looking in a cabinet above the sink to check for cookbooks.]

[...why is she carrying poisons around? Riku tilts her head up a bit, but she won't ask.]

We've got potions.

[that said, she pulls out a bottled water.]

Want something?

[doesn't look up.]

Pretty sure it's not supposed to go like this.

[hates that smirk so much, but fine. she's going to ignore him, going back to her book and scanning over the page. good luck finding a book when he's got two more underneath hers.]

What exactly did you do to end up with this mess?

{ She could be asking the same thing about an empty revolver and a few magazines sticking out, all nice and shiny. Though at her current state, Kairi wouldn't be able to shoot one without sitting first...

She holds an antidote up and shakes it a bit before putting it back in her backpack, looking up at Riku with a smile. } I'd love some mango juice, if there is any.

[Doesn't find anything worth his time, and heads for the door, but stops and leans against a counter instead.]

Would you bite my head off if I asked what you were trying to make?
