[he's stopped in a hallway to rub his back frantically against the nearest doorjamb, whomever's it might be, eyes half closed at how good it feels; he's already got some peeling skin at his hips where skin turns into scales, but his back is always the hardest thing to get started, because he can't reach it. in any case, if you know anything about snakes, it's pretty obvious that this fellow is starting to shed.]

(ooc: anyone want to help? annoy him? come by with a child for him to eye wistfully? come on, he should have more friends around here than just Vexen. :| )

[djfkh was not expecting a person right there. looks down at her, still trying to shiver off the itch on his back.]

What I mean is- do you want me to get that itch you can't reach?

[Maybe she isn't a friend, but she has a pretty nice pair of claws on her. But she knows your pain~ ]

[scrapes his back against the hard edge of the doorframe, barely glancing at her]

[She'll just wiggle her closer, taking a look at your back. She prods you in the back with one of her claws. ]

I'm jussst playing with you... Every here isss ssso puffed up over nothing.

[Well, even with all the creatures he's come across back home, he's never seen a naga before. So he's going to stop his trek down the hall and watch curiously.]

[Ushers him away from the doorway so that she can reach his back.]

[fgsdhj-- omg. finds a better angle for scratching and groans quietly, the groan of someone finally beating a persistent itch for the time being. finally glances down the hall at Red, looking curiously at him.]

[Stop copying my face, gdit. He heads closer, hands in his pockets. He might not have ever met a naga, but he's seen and dealt with snakes before.]

[moves away from the door, settling down more to her level, looking immensely grateful]

Right along my sspine.

[there's a peeling triangle of skin that starts up between his shoulderblades and flares out until it meets scales at his hips, and it's kind of red from him scratching it against the doorframe. x_x ]

[twists to snap his teeth at her irritably]

I am in no mood to be played with.

[Starts scratching! Makes a face at the peeling skin, though.]

You probably shouldn't use a door frame as a back-scratcher, you know. It looks pretty red back here.

[She quickly pulls he hand away, hissing a bit at Axel, but she calms down. The last thing they needed was a fight. ]

Ooh...Sso tessty~ I jussst want to help. Makes it a lot harder without treesss...

[Yeah, she sort of missed those, but whateve's. ]

[His eyes absently trail over the rest of the tail before back over to the door frame.]

That's gotta be a pain. Isn't there anywhere better to do that, though?

There wasss nothing elsse nearby. But I can't ssit sstill anywhere better, either.

How long's it normally take?

I did not have many treesss at home, either, sso that iss the leassst of my problemss. But if you actually wissh to help, and not jusst bother me, then thank you.

[pulls away from the door a bit, still looking grouchy]

Well then we'll just have to find you a proper back-scratcher then.

[shrug; scratches more against the doorjamb, eying the odd coloration of this human, and the funny eyes]

A week or sso. It dependsss on the weather and how much I've eaten recsssently.

[Wow, must have been a village snake... She wouldn't know what to do without it. But she circles around you again and begins clawing lightly at your back, peeling away the skin. She was of course mindful of her claws...wouldn't want to scratch him all up~ ]

What do you normally do when you shed? Because running yourself into doors doesn't look like it works too well...

That'd probably work better against a tree or something.
