We're Curious to Know Which Hole You Followed the White Rabbit Down

[ Hair disheveled, jeans torn, Alic believes he's had one too many visits with the caterpillar if he's gone from being chased by a raging Jabberwocky to standing inside a . . .dressing room? He blinks. Stares. And promptly collapses onto a conveniently placed couch. Whatever this is, it's his fault, and even if it's not, Alic is going to blame him because it makes him feel better, regardless that there were no card soldiers to chase him through that door, only the Jabberwocky...and if the ever angry Queenie could control a Jabberwocky, he was pretty much doomed.

At one time, he would've sworn that door led into the Hatter's garden, but it's Wonderland, and really, when does anything ever go as he expects or desires it to? The answer would be a blunt and dismal never. So he lays, body limp, eyes skyward, and over all quite a mess, on this strange couch in this strange room and ponders. . .]

". . .Why does this shit always happen to me?"

'This shit' happens to pretty much everyone around here.

[don't mind him; he's all nice and bloodstained, he hasn't gotten around to changing after watching one of his best friends bleed out. so here, have an exhausted, somewhat bloody redhead nearby.]

Really? So everyone here has been chased by an angry Jabberwocky? We should trade war stories.

[His tone is dry, but not unfriendly. There are plenty of...interesting people around, some seem to be carbon copies of others, and had he not just come from a world where he takes directions from a disappearing cat, and knows a caterpillar that smokes a hookah, this might disturb him.

He'd comment on the blood, but hey, he's not exactly at his most beautiful either, what with the dirt and the scratches and all, and really it's none of his business.]

So where is 'here', anyway?

Maybe not a Jabberwocky, but people around here have dealt with a fair bit of fighting and pain and death.

[wanders over and slumps into a nearby seat.]

Everyone just calls it the dressing room. It's a crossroads between worlds, and it pulls people from their own worlds into it, hence the duplicates of people. Unfortunately, there's no known way out.

Ah, yea, probably should have guessed, since the first person I've talked to is just about as sad looking as I am.

[ pulling himself up into a sitting position, he glances around warily, as if waiting for the card soldiers or their crazy ruler himself, to leap from behind the furniture wielding axes and aiming to sever his head from his neck.]

Weird. . .

[raises an eyebrow at the apparent cautiousness.]

Expecting something?

[ He looks sheepish, younger in that split second before he replies.]

Er..would it be too odd if I said that yes, I'm waiting for this crazy King to pop out of nowhere and command that I be beheaded? That happens a lot. He won't give up. . .

[tilts his head thoughtfully.]

Wow, Sora wasn't kidding when she described him.

I don't know what you've heard, but if this Sora described him as temperamental, arrogant, completely off his rocker and a generally angry person, than no, she wasn't kidding...

[ He sighed, slumped in his chair, and used one hand to attempt to smooth his riotous, dirty hair. ]

So is there anywhere to...I dunno, bathe or something, around here...if not, this can not be a very pleasant smelling place. . .

Yeah, that sounds about right...

[smiles faintly.]

There are bathrooms and stuff, and we can find you an empty room to stay in.

[ Hops up, looking just a bit less exhausted and rather relieved at the thought of a nice hot shower.

Thank god. Dirt, blood and Jabberwocky aren't exactly an ideal fragrance. . .

[ It's strange place he's landed in, but it possesses in door plumbing, and lacks a crazy (if not annoyingly attractive) King, so at this point it rates a bit higher than Wonderland, then again, he's only encountered one person so far, who knows what all the others are like.

He decides he needs that shower before he can even begin to contemplate that.]

[stands as well, and motions for him to follow, heading towards the nearest bathroom.]

For the record, there are some dangerous people around here. Murderers, demons, Heartless... If it looks like it's made out of shadow, avoid it.

[ makes a note of it. ]

Yeah, I guess if it's pulling people from their dimensions it's not just gonna take the so called 'innocent' ones. . .Thanks for the warning.

[He thinks maybe he was better off in Wonderland for a brief second, because despite it's oddities it was somewhat familiar to him, and this place with it's new people also had new dangers, and he hoped wouldn't discover them first hand. ]

No problem. Everyone deserves a warning.

[stops outside a bathroom and nudges the door open.]

Here. You can clean up, and I can find you something to change into.

[a small, though none the less grateful smile is given and he slips inside the bathroom, forcing himself not to look in the mirror until after he's removed scrubbed the grime from his body.

He ignores the sting as the soap leaks onto the small lacerations that decorate his knees, face and arms and steam rapidly clouds the bathroom.]

[goes off to find him a set of clothing, digging through closets with a sigh. after finding things that look like they'd fit, he returns to wait outside the door.]

[Despite the mess he'd been, it doesn't take him long to finish cleaning himself up, and wrapping a towel around his waist, he rubs away steam to evaluate the damage. It's minimal, he decides, padding over to the door to poke his head out.

Clean now, he looks younger, more innocent and less worn.]

Thanks, gimme one more minute.

[Dressed in new jeans and a white long sleeved button up, barefoot(his shoes were un-salvageable, and he didn't really care), he steps from the bathroom stretching.]

Much better.

[nods slightly.]

You look it. Want to find a room now? Or would you rather... I don't know, get something to eat? I can show you where the kitchen is.

[mostly he's just trying to distract himself from... everything.]

[ He's not really used to having a choice. It's strange. His stomach decides for him and he tries to ignore the small amount of red creeping up his neck. He thinks the water dripping from his hair must be sizzling on the heated skin.]

Uhh...the kitchen would be nice...

[He's sort of pathetic, but it's ok.]

Alright, just follow me. And try to remember the way; it can get a little confusing sometimes.

[starts leading the way to the kitchen, making sure not to go too far ahead.]

[Trails behind, eyes skipping around, trying to imprint the layout in his memory. In place like this, Gods only know who, or what, he could run into if he got lost. ]

Huh.

[ He blinks, as if realizing something.]

What's your name?

[He was a little out of it, it's not entirely his fault he forgot to ask for the most basic information...]

Oh, right, sorry. With so many duplicates running around, things like introductions get forgotten a lot. My name's Kai. What's yours?

[glances at him questioningly.]

Alic. Alice minus the 'e'.

[ His hand moves up as they walk, index finger swirling around as if signing his name in the air. He talks with hands sometimes.]

. . .are there really so many duplicates? That has to get confusing...

[Raises an eyebrow.]

Well then it's nice to meet you, Alic.

[enters the kitchen, shoving a chair someone left pushed out back to the table with his foot as he passes it.]

And yeah, there are. There's a couple hundred of Sora- spikey brown haired guy- and Roxas- spikey blond haired guy who looks really similar to Sora. Not to mention the redheaded guys called Axel, and the blonde girl Namine, and the redheaded girl Kairi. They're the ones with the most doubles.

[sighs and shakes his head.]

It can be confusing, but you get used to it, and learn to recognize which ones you know.

Oh!

[ Snaps his fingers in remembrance. ]

I know a Sora...it was a couple of years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was a girl, but, I'm almost positive I've met one before. There was issue with Queenie and she and her friends were trespassing, and I was in trouble AGAIN, for no apparent reason. . .

[Nods to himself.]

That was probably my Sora.

[grins a little.]

Unlike most of the Soras here, mine's female. --oh, I forgot to mention Riku, who's also got a lot of duplicates around. Uh, silver haired guy. But there's also actual replicas of him, too, and most of those go by a different name.

[oops, the grin drops at mentioning Rikus.]
